This is basic american history. They couldn't participate in the GI bill. They were cut off from the benefits by and large. Look at the book listed below. The GI bill was welfare. It's the very definition of welfare and was largely/overwhelmingly restricted to whites. The New Deal policies that created the american middle class discriminated against black Americans at the time. We couldn't get loans, houses, good schools, good food. We were getting lynched. The american middle class was created though social welfare and we were denied those services.

You just said you wanted the same 'handouts' that other races got. Are you telling me you can't get the GI Bill now?

GI Bill is NOT a hand out. You can join the military if you wish and avail yourself of the benefits.

Descendants? Dude slavery ended in the late 1800s. They aren't around anymore and those that live now were never slaves. Likewise I wouldn't give descendants of the Japanese Americans any reparations. You need to move on and stop expecting hand outs dude.

We aren't talking money. That's what you people don't get. I'm talking good schools, clean water in our neighborhoods, access to wealth building resources, etc. Reparations for black people isn't about giving out checks.

I said descendants of slaves not slaves. All those policies I listed were enacted during the 40's and 50's and 60's.

I do not support merely giving black people cash payouts or anything like that. I support far more educational investment in black communities, more social programs, police and municipal reforms.

Everyone should. That's the problem. Everyone doesn't. And they are severely, disproportionately, people living in black neighborhoods the government has created for them.

That matters because? Don't I have parents? Grandparents? Aunts, Uncles, etc? If my grandmother couldn't get a good loan on a house how exactly was supposed to build wealth during a time period when everyone built wealth off of their homes? My mother's lack of education directly affects my bringing. Her poverty and my mental state go hand in hand.

I find that people that make excuses would rather do that than work for things.

The fear in this country (the US) is getting completely out of hand. I don't know what people are so ****ing scared of. You can literally die of a million things at any moment, but you're going to make a big deal out of the one or two things that are not even on that list?

Cool heads need to prevail. We are making waaaaaaaaaaaay too many important decisions based on emotions and fear. We are being very un-Dude-like. We need to relax. We are acting like Sith, we need to be Jedi. Or Gungans, just eat and swim and act at peace with the world.

I swear they are a whole different thing from black americans. Not enough time around other races. This won't help them not until our country does something about these frequent mass shootings.

Also, I'm a first generation German American in my family. They moved in here in 1960 after the Soviets took all of their land and money in East Germany. I want some compensation god dammit!

My grandparents both came over to this country with no wealth or education. I think the US govt. owes me about 54-60 million in reparations as well. Let's get paid.

I should get paid too! My parents were immigrants, and I demand satisfaction for the US taking all the Mexican Cession! But I'm not complaining because times has changed and Mexico today is sh!t, and I'm proud to be a born US citizen.
