I have recently got into reading, its summer and its nice to sunbathe while reading, but buying quite a lot of books is expensive. I have been buying from waterstones recently because the selection is the best available near me without buying online. I have never been a big reader and am unfamiliar with places to buy books. I know I could join a library but the selection is limited where I live.

Just wondering if you know anywhere that often has deals on (online or a shop, it doesnt matter which.)

Although I don't have it here in Iceland, Waterstones is indeed great. I visited one while in England and they had a very wide selection of books there. So I don't really have any recommendations. Such a cozy atmosphere in the one near Trafalgar Square though (I think that was the one). I generally just stick to libraries when I want to read something though.

Hal-price books. Best price you will ever get on books. I got a copy of Brisnger there for $2.50 once hard back good condition too. But I doubt in your state they have them.

Amazon. The only time I buy books in shops are in those clearance places where they're going for like 50p or something.

Thanks for the replies.

I was thinking amazon might be an option, they sell so much and I don't mind buying used things. I guess I will give amazon a look in future.

Edit: Looks like I have found what I was after, I didn't expect to see such good prices on amazon :) Thank you for the suggestion.

Find a local used bookstore. Amazon is good as well; it's cheaper than retail stores but it's much more expensive than buying used.

I use Amazon. Sometimes I'll buy a book in a good used condition, depending on the price. And I get what books I can from my university's library during term time.

This. Around my university there are three really great second-hand bookshops. The books are in great condition and you will usually pay half of what you would anywhere else. Old books smell awesome too, probably my favourite smell. mmmmmmmm... knowledge.

This. And when Half-Price doesn't have what I want, I go to Borders.

This. Amazon has the best deals on used books, and they have everything you could ever dream of in a book.
