Well I know they have made lots of books into movies like the Lord of the Rings Trilogy or Harry Potter... But what book do you guys think should become a movie?? Thats if you read of course.

I think Mortal Engines and its sequals written by Phillip Reeves should become a movie. It would be a classic.

I just hope the director would be able to properly flesh out the parallels between The Blob that Ate Everyone and Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged.

I'd actually love to see a proper film version of Catcher in the Rye, but I know such a thing would be near impossible to perfect :(

I have no clue which books those are. I just remember the original 20 or so from 15 years ago. :P

The Blob that Ate Everyone is an amazing book. The raw, viceral intensity of the story kept me turning the pages. Told from a rich, complex narrative, R.L. Stine's book kept me guessing to the mind blowing conclusion. It also contains some references to Ayn Rand's works Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead.

Goosebumps would be awesome if done right. Does anyone remember that TV series that ran a few years ago? Some of those adaptions weren't half bad.

You can read books at your own pace, but i like movies better because you dont have to use your imagination to picture what is going on.

I am a lover of Sci-Fi so I would like to see a few made into movies:

Larry Niven's The Integral Trees

Larry Niven's Beowulfs Children

Issac Asimov's Foundation series (this one would be ambitious, would require many movies)

Gordon R. Dickson's Wolfling (an AMAZING book and a must read for anyone who likes sci-fi)

Neal Stevenson's Snow Crash (another AMAZING book; anyone who likes cyberpunk, computers or just a good read)

Also, maybe a world-class version of Martin Eden (my favorite book of all time). The acting would have to be impeccable, though.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss is my favourite book, so that obviously.

I think I'd like a 100% faithful adaptation of Ulysses, that'd be epic.

True but alot of books that were turned into movies got alot of stuff taken out.So by reading the book before a movie always helps.

Dexter would've been cool as a trilogy, but the show has much more depth to it.

Hmm... read the critic excerps and it appears to be just an average fantasty show. Shame. I still wouldn't mind seeing real movies based on his books.

Well, I never watch that channel so that would probably explain why I haven't heard of it. Plus, I wouldn't have made the connection of Legend of the Seeker with the Sword of Truth unless I actually saw a preview for it and heard their names.

Salinger says no. We should respect that. The whole point is it's a novel, not a hollywood film. If it became a film Hollywood could never do it out of principle.

They are planning at least another two movies...

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Silver Chair are the books planning to be made.
