so i invited my friends over for my bday, and we had a blast. beer was kinda nasty but i dealt with it (I had three). for a light weight, i really loved the smirnoff ice(two bottles). i also drank 2 vodka shots.

it was fun yah know? everyone was loosened up, having fun. one of my friends got woozy and gave us all a laugh.

i always thought that people who drank alcohol were irresponsible, and what not, but man i was wrong, it was a really fun experience.

any if you had same experiences?

I tried to get drunk once. I drank what I thought was a large amount of alcohol, but I didn't even feel buzzed. Meh.

I can't drink anymore. Everytime I do I end up way too drunk, which is my fault, but I've realized I would be better off just not drinking in the first place.

I just smoke instead.

Depends on the amount you drink. At least you didn't over-due it for your first time.

Ahh your just opening up, Smirnoff ice is actually a good starter because it has very low alcohol but gets your taste buds used to the taste. But when i drink nothing beats Vodka/Grey Goose or Bombai. ;)

That's a funny post. Even as a kid I never thought that people who drank were irresponsible. My father and really all of his friends drank and my mom did once in a while and they are responsible indeed. Good thing you didn't overdue it for your first time.

I got drunk on my 18th. 3 bottles of Magners, some Baileys and 3 Vodka shots. I threw up and passed out later.

But apparently I'm a great laugh when I'm drunk.

it's when you get too wasted to know whats going on when you become a danger to yourself and others...I remember a friend and I got so wasted (around 16 both) that we don't remember how we got home nor why we were sleeping in the places we did...luckely nothing bad happened...I had a hangover the entire next day until I went back to bed again...never drinking that much again (though I can take more now).

People that are not drinking are really missing out on a very fun aspect of life. Drinking is great because it brings people together it also lowers everyones inhabitions, which stops everyone from judging and feeling self concious. It allows people to express their inner feelings and thoughts, people stop taking turns talking and actually listen. Of course this is all negated by drinking to much, remember ANYTHING is irresponsible in excess.

Moderation is key.

Please drink in moderation

I used to think drinking was stupid too a long time ago. But now I realize how much fun it can be with a group of people as long as your not stupid about it or decide to drive afterwards.

Really alcohol can be a great catalyst to a good time. Also to a bad time but that comes with the territory.

I went from being hardcore straight edge in my childhood, to drinking in my adulthood (and enjoying it).

Drinking is fun, if you just do it to loosen up and have a good time. If you drink just to get rip-roaring hammered, you just end up making a fool of yourself and breaking your bank. I've had that bad experience before. I drank 36 ounces of hard booze in a night (I'm a 125 lb female) and ended up dropping over $200 and vomiting in my friends car :? not fun.

Been drinking since I was 14, of course tried the odd one before that but i mean actually opening a bottle / can in the house and drinking the whole pint. Alchoholic drinks are great, when I did snowboarding I liked going out on the slopes, then having a pint and going out again. Same with surfing, Wakeboarding, all the stuff i've done, it all feels great after a pint.

I try not to have more then 2 in a day. I get sillyafter my 3rd, start to not be myself.

You don't drink... and lack of alcohol makes your life worse? Did I read that correctly?

Can't imagine someone having a good childhood with a drunk father.

No, scorch, you read it wrong. As far as my childhood goes, it was pretty normal. Do understand what I meant by saying my life would be a lot better if my dad had not succumbed to alcohol, you first have to know that my dad was employed by the city department of water. He made pretty good money. Everything was great. Then came the alcohol. He lost his job, we lost our house, my mom had to get a job, we moved in with her parents, etc. If my dad had been able to keep his job, he would be easily making well over $100K a year. It's ridiculous how inflated city salaries are. It just pisses me off how he threw all that away. It was extremely selfish of him. I hate him sometimes. If it wasn't for my mom and her loving parents, I don't know where I would be.

Good for you man, you saw the light.

Alcohol is a good thing. Perhaps one of the best things.

1. It tastes good

2. It feels good

3. It makes people loosen up and have a good time. ANd no, you dont need it for a good time, but it certainly helps and is fun!

People that drink alcohol in moderation are, imo, more responsible than people that simply say no because they view it as a negative. By drinking in moderation or safely, you are recognizing your limit and not exceeding it.

People that dont drink because they have demonized alcohol (alcoholics or people with alcoholics in familyexcluded, they should not drink at all) are too naive or too ignorant to know just how good it is.

People that drink too much are bad for opposite reasons.

I'm 18, and respect the law, so no, i have not had alcohol or beer. And honestly, I can't say I really look forward to it like many others seem to do. I've managed thus far in my life quite well without beer, and I certainly can continue to do so without beer. I've also smellled beer bottles before, and they smell pretty nasty to me. :?

I may give beer a shot when I am 21, and may like it, but at the moment I don't really care about beer at all, and at the moment fail to see the appeal of it.

I'm 19 and also had my first drink not too long ago. I road tripped with my friends to Canada and it was legal so I thought might as well. Beer is pretty terrible but Rockstar + Vodka is good and so is Baileys. I never got drunk but I did feel buzzed. It was fun but I probably won't do it again. I still don't think it was that great.

I would add to that by saying do not make alcohol into something it is not. Not something that cures sadness or depression. Not something that will eliminate social awkwardness. Not something will fix any of life's problems. Just one means of many that can help a person have a good time.

In another words, alcohol should not be used as a "crutch."

i drink about every 2 th. weekend and it is rare i drink too much and act like an idiot...it happend mainly within the first year i drank but once you have thrown up 3-4 times you know how itfeels when you are on the tip of throwing up, and you know how much you can drink etc....just know if you are hungry when you drink you canonly consume half the amount you would normally be able to before you throw up...so me being hungry+shots= passing out in a bush after 30 min:P

People who drink too much alcohol are irresponsible. Most drunks always say "I'm Fine, I haven't had too much". Then they drive.

35% to 38% of all Traffic Fatalities in the U.S. are Alcohol Related.
