No offense, but so be it. The world will give rise to another singer whose sound will become stereotypical of a decade thirty seconds before it is even conceived. It's sad to see another human bite the big one but let's face facts: he was seriously ill in the run up to his eventual demise.

Look at his life over the past 20 some years.

It's been terrible, first his skin burns off, then he gets plastic surgery to make him look completely different than he ever did, then he gets made fun of obsessively for it, then he goes through those child cases, then he gets made fun of for it some more, then he buys a theme park and doesn't use it that much and eventually sells it, then South Park and Eminem and everyone else and their mom ceaselessly make fun of him for his nose and his child charges.

If anything, what a rotten life. The way I see it, at least now he's free of all that.

it's really upsetting.. i really loved his stuff when i was in school; michael jackson was like the coolest thing.

it's just such a shock.

My news station just confirmed his death, he may have all the haters, and he may have been weird, but that doesn't matter anymore, RIP Michael..

I own all of his albums, love his work. His death really shocked me, even with all the recent rumors of his bad health. R.I.P. MJ.

Wow, it's still stunning despite his steep decline the past decade in a half. Growing up a huge Jackson fan, and nearly every kid in the 80's was, this has the feel of what it must have felt like for my parents when Elvis died.
