What's disturbing is that people like you are mouring the death of a guy who molested little kids and then used his money and power to avoid prosecution.

wow. i cannot believe he's gone. really i can't. i know i've spent a lot of time making fun of him due to his child molestation charges and whatnot. But it's pretty much impossible for anyone to have not been influenced by him in some form or another. Not just by his music, but by his music videos, dances, and over all style. even where i come from musically, (the gothic/industrial) scene, it's not uncommon by any means to find someone that wasn't influenced by him. I have anyway sound the psychology of Michael Jackson to be rather fascinating. always theorizing what he meant by numerous statements and trying to understand his rather unusually large connection to children. particularly Peter Pan. i still to this day way what he meant when he said "Children are the only people that tell me the truth". Perhaps it just comes from me having a repressed childhood. But regardless, we should give him a moment of silence.

I've been up all night watching CNN.com here from Sweden my heart is broken and I don't think people understand what legend Michael Jackson really was. One of the all time best and he made music like no one else. His music made you want to get up and dance. And that he did, he made people dance all across the globe. I also want to make a personal comment on the people who is posting negative comments on him and his work. You must understand that he never had a childhood of his own and was still a child at heart. He cared for them and he felt that children was the only one who could understand him. That does not make him the person the media claimed him to be.He had his special moments, but every great man have had those. There is no denying Michael's star power. There is no denying his music. Today june 25/26-09 I lost one of my idols. Much respect and love. Rest in Piece Michael

I don't get why we can't be "disrespectful" of someone who has harmed children the way he has. The fact that there is an honorarium for a pedophile is sickening, the fact that you are threatening people with "warnings" or "bannings" to protect said honorarium is beyond sick.

I was suprised when I saw that, I was eating dinner at a restaurant when they channel changed to FOX news and it confirmed that MJ died. Rest In Peace.
I'm sooo distressed to hear this. My friends poked fun of me for actually listening to him but I never cared. The guy was such an amazing entertainer, performer, and overall person. There goes one of the few people in this world that changed what it meant to be a human and reach heart-stopping potential.
Not that I cared so much about his music, I do enjoyed his earlier stuff. But completely tuned out after BAD.
But he'll always be remembered for his charities and selflessness outside the chaos of the entertainment industry. One of the few who actually give a damn.
He was cool except for all of that "Jesus juice" and having kids sleep in the same room with him.. Still doesn't take away the fact that he is one of biggest singers of all time
He was, but you know how it is...people will never let the issue go. I sympathize with people who were proven innocent but get their reputation dragged through the mud anyway, celeb or not.
