I saw a projection of areas that would have been affected by radiation had a reactor melted down, it would have spread across the Pacific all the way to the midwest United States and parts of Canada and Mexico, that's freaking scary.

Out of curiosity, where is this?

Are you really asking for evidence on GS? Anyway, why is this thread still going so long. There's been like 4 explosions. Second one is old news.

Because it's an ongoing event. Fire broken out at reactor 4 now I believe.

Was broken out. It's extinguished, unless there's another one.

Here's the link to the image. This is second-hand, though, soemone else posted this on another forum so I don't know which site he got it from.

"This map is a fraud."

I had the feeling that that would be the case, which is why I asked.

Alright, hadn't heard that, but this, "As they say, 'The solution to pollution is dilution," kind of logic makes me cringe. I've done simplistic labs that show how dillution works in principle, and it takes a HUGE amount of water to distill a certain amount of any type of waste. Even then I'm not disputing that it wouldn't be dilluted before it reached North America, but ocean pollution still worries me a great deal. If a large-scale leak ever entered the pacific it could kill off animals, disrupt fragile ecosystems, and wreak havoc on local sea life, it's not exactly a desireable scenario.

No, it's not a desirable scenario, but also not the "everything in western North America dies" scenario.

Sky News still have it up on their breaking news - happened around an hour ago I believe, apparently the first one wasn't extinguished properly.

They are now saying the original fire was never fully out.
