So I was watching Family Guy for s*** and giggles, and even though I don't like that show, I realize why that show sucks balls.

Every aspect of the show is bad.

at first i just ignored his blandness. then Seth macfarlane started using him as a mouthpiece for his liberal atheist views that now plagues 70% of all new family guy episodes. we want random funny references to corny 80's movies, not episodes about brian sucking at writing and turning everyone into left wing atheist annoyances.

The only times I ever laugh at Family Guy is when Stewie beats the crap out of Brian.

I like Brian. Also if you think Family Guy will still suck regardless why do you think anybody would listen to you about getting rid of him?

The real problem with Family Guy is that it takes itself too seriously.

Last episode I watched, Quagmire's dad turns out to be a tranny and sleeps with Brian. Quagmire finds out, beats the hell out of Brian, and as he's leaving the house, a beaten up Brian staggers to the front door and fires off a gem; "hey.... I ****ed your dad" *door slams shut*

I still stand by opinion that pre-cancellation Family Guy trumps the post-cancellation rendition.

Every family guy character has gone downhill.

Peter - used to be a pretty dumb character, but family guy ran the dumb dad joke into the ground worse than the simpsons. Each season instead of making him stupid in witty ways they just make him more and more retarded.

Lois - probably one of the least ruined characters, lois is the typical sitcom trophy wife. Every once in a while when they've ran everything else into the ground they do a Lois drastic change episode/skit where she's a slut, fighter, or idiot.

Meg - is suppose to be the heel of the family, but w/ so many unlikable characters it's hard to pull off. Overall she's just another factor that makes the show unwatchable.

Chris - In my opinion he's basically a male meg. Ugly unpopular and tends to say typical teen stuff. Sometimes they'll throw him a bone and give him a good skit, dialog, or show, but it's rare most of the time he's male meg.

Brian - was originally the high point of the family. With elegance, style, education, and sophistication he should of been the character we all aspire to be. Instead they eventually drag him through the mud as a washed up neverbeen, alcoholic, liberal.

Stewie - was my favorite character. An evil baby genius would of made for great plots, but eventually they just turned him into an annoying stupid gay baby. Once in a while they try for the evil genius thing, and then we sit through 18 episodes of gay baby.

Onto the secondary characters.

Joe - basically the average joe... except he's in a wheel chair. Too often I feel he's just become a crutch so the writers can make fun of the handicap, and not get any blow back since Joe was such an awesome guy.

Quagmire - luckily not much has changed w/ Quagmire, but quagmire non-sex skits tend to suck.

The more minor the characters get the less they've change which is a good thing.

I was pretty happy watching the last episode when it looked like they were killing off the character, but then they did a realy lame cop out at the end, I dunno, I think Im done with the show, didnt even laugh once in the last episode.

Brian doesn't annoy me. Sometimes I find him funny.

Those guys over there at Fox have been reading too much OT and found out people love shows talking about politics and atheism. =p

I don't think he's killing Family Guy. Yes his liberal atheist views are definitely played with pretty often, but I doubt they're trying to "force" anything. Brian is essentially Seth in real life, which is why he uses his real voice for him. Brain is supposed to be the brains of the family, and he sometimes still is, but like every person who has brains, can also be annoying as well.
