Sorry but she gets no sympathy from me. This reminds me of when I watched America's Fattest Man (he was black, had 3 kids and a just became a grandfather I think) and people who allow themselves to get this big infuriate me. Can you imagine the nurse's who have to clean her? When I was watching America's Fattest Man they had to get 4 people to lift his tumours and clean all the excrement from the back of his body because he was too fat to move:?. I can only imagine the money she cost the taxpayers.

I wonder if stories like these make the females of GS feel self-conscious.

entropyecho

I don't get why that would make anyone self-conscious?

I felt bad for her until I read the snippet where she basically blamed everyone else for her eating disorder. It came across as really selfish, especially since her husband quit his job to help her. The family's just stupid as hell for enabling her for 20 years.

I think that was the cover story on my favourite newspaper, The Sun.

And seriously, her family shouldn't have done that - didn't they want her to get better?

That's actually a good question. I wonder if he had a huge life insurance on her. Judging from the picture I'm sure he needed to purchase fire and flood insurance as well, but if he has a policy on her he stands to make a lot of money probably. Maybe they'll pay by the pound, in which case he'll never have to work again.

From the programs I've seen on eating disorders, 90% of the time it seems overeating to this extent happens because people don't know how to say no because they have no balls. I would have probably put her ass on a treadmill after she gained 50 pounds. I'm a big fan of tough love.

yeah seriously. This is what makes me furious. About two years ago or so the worlds fattest man in britian who couldnt work, had no family/job. But he had people around the clock cleaning and feeding and taking care of him because he couldnt do anything. It was like a team of 5 people and this went on for a LONG time. I mean how many millions of dollars of tax payers money went to this absolute pig of a man?

Yeah cause all fat people don't respect themselves....

As a self respecting person I would never allow myself to get that frikin huge and gross

As a self-respecting person, I'd never be enough of a jerk to laugh about a person's death. But apparently that's not the case for everyone.

It's her fault because she wanted her family to sneak in the food. As for her family, well they're idiots.

mo0ksi
She obviously had a mental addiction to food so naturally she would ask for food to be brought in. Her family should be shot for bringing it in.

True though. I don't know about in the UK, but In the US (at least in the North West) fried chicken isn't cheap. A KFC 10 piece meal with side dishes ran me twenty bucks.

I also feel sorry for her husband. And in terms of her family bringer her food, of course it was wrong, but it's quite hard saying no to someone you love. I'm not condoning it, but I can sort of understand on some level.

The most horrific part of this story was having to read a Sun 'article'.

Meh, some people treat their bodies like temples, some like amusement parks, and some like walls to graphite on. Self esteem is at the least partially from outside influences, but you are right that she should respect herself. Still from the article it sounded more like she was a food addict than a depressed person, and he family was enabling her.

BRITAIN'S fattest woman 45-STONE Sharon Mevsimler lies tragically in bed and claims she has been left to die. The mum of four says doctors told her she is too big for life-saving surgery. She said: "I have been left to die. If I was anorexic I would get proper help but no one has sympathy for obese people." NHS sources say Sharon HAS been lined up for a 30,000 euro gastric by-pass op.

Just yesterday I saw an overly obese man breathing out an oxygen tank eating plates and plates at a buffet. I really have no sympathy if these people choose to make no effort to help themselves. I just wonder who pays for their healthcare, I don't think taxpayers should be flipping the bill.

Nope I know the argument is going to be well you don't know what other health conditins. The thing is I know a handful of people with so called thyroid issues etc and all they ever seem to do is eat and watch TV. Sure there are people out there with actual issues but to it seems like some people are just looking for excuses.

Also they guy literaly ate about 10-12 plates thats a bit excessive no matter what kind of issues you have.

For all you know, the guy could be terminally ill with only a few months to live. Without actually knowing anything about the dude, where do you get off saying what the guy should be doing for his health?
