Depends really, both have positives and negatives, and I can't say one is generally better than the other, since both offer things and aspects I enjoy as well as not enjoy.

British, American humour has its moments.. but for me all my favourite comedy shows and comedians are British. The office for example i much prefer the British over the American, even thoe i still enjoy the American one.

If by american humor you mean low-brow humor, then i guess i prefer british humor. Altho it certainly ain´t what it used to be.

Anything after Seinfeld: British. And what is with all these teen "comedies" about Americans wanting to lose their virginity? I really couldn't care less about their problems in that department...

The Americans VERY rarely have anything original in their humour. British humour all the way, Monty Python alone defeats all.

I haven't watched many movies of the genre, but I guess it will be british for me. I remember the TV Series "Allo, Allo". It had cracked me up more than F.R.I.E.N.D.S. did :)

Let's not forget that Oscar Wilde was British, a wit that has yet to be matched. Although I will give points to the Americans for producing Groucho Marx.

American humour is too sanitized and politically correct. British humour is sick and real, and occasionally abstract and actually funny.

If that video is an example of good British humor...Then I'll be sticking with American.

It all depends. Both have their moments.

In terms of British humour Trigger Happy TV was amazing. Easily the most intelligent and well-thought out prank show ever. Soooo funny.

At the same time, The Big Bang Theory proves that American humour doesn't have to be stupid. The dialog in this show is great and crazy and the main characters work so well with eachother it's great!

I guess as an American I am exposed to much more American humour and therefore prefer it but I can enjoy British humor too.

Both have their things that make me angry. American humor nowadays is just to offend as many people as possible (Family Guy, American Dad, the simpsons). Some shows do it well, like Arrested Development. British humor makes me rage just because it has a goddamn laugh track

American humour is generally pretty awful. There must not be much going up in the mind of someone who finds that stuff funny.

I can usually see the american jokes coming before they start, which kills the funny for me.

British humour one hits American Humour.

American humour isn't too bad, but sometimes it's just over the top and lame.

British homour edges it for me with shows like Shameless and The Catherine Tate Show but i do love Malcolm in th Middle, Family Guy etc

I used to preffer some of the American stand up comedians like Chris Rock, Rich Halletc but now I would say the British stand up comedian like Frankie Boyl, Jimmy Carr etc are better.

American humour has both South Park and Arrested Development. Therefore American humour wins as no british show is in the league of these two.

British, the kind of American comedy I generally see on tv is stuff like Scrubs, 2 and a Half Men, the American version of The Office. Really bad stuff.

British humor before anything else! I'm a HUGE fan of Britcoms.

Are You Being Served, Only Fools and Horses, Monty Python, Bottom, Mr. Bean, The Office (UK...of course), The Mighty Boosh, Keeping Up Appearances, The Young Ones.....I cherish them all!
