just either take it seriously and just say "you ok" "what you been up to" "had a good day" etc et
or take your pick from some fo teh above suggested ideas. the heavy breathing down the receiver always gets me :P it would also be an ideal opportunity to make good use of a sound board.
Well if you're not used to talking to girls then what you need is experience; so just call her to get it. Don't try and plan out a conversation, just talk about whatever comes to mind and see if you have anything in common. Don't think of it as a big deal and you won't get nervous.
