Wow. Just...wow. Anyone who says Fedor would win this fight is ignorant and has watched too much TV, plain and simple. Weight means nothing, combat rules mean nothing. That's the last thing I'm going to say in this regard.

The same could be said about Bruce...
Going with Lee is nothing more than an act of pure faith.Paladin_King
Yeah, i think you´re stretching it a tad now.
Even the oldest JKD curriculum speaks volumes of Lee´s combat insight.I see your point, there are practical tangible evidence of Fedor´s fighting prowess, but you´re ignoring the books depicting Lee´s combat theories (among other factors,Lee having fought numerous martial arts experts, and winning the fights, and also accepting daily challenges from martial artists flocking from north, east, south and west when shooting in China.)
Act of pure faith? You sound like a fanboy defending his console now, generalizing and putting a motif you deem fitting into the reasoning of others. You know your Fedor, but you obviously know nothing of Lee.
I'm sorry but Bruce Lee is built up like some super-human ninja. He was an actor, not a professional fighter. Emelianenko is a professional fighter who has a weight advantage. Not to mention he is still alive; zombies are generally easy to kill.Loonie
wow.
Bruce Lee fought professionally btw.

Yes, but it´s not sponsored by Dana White, so it never happened.
I just have to say, I can't believe anyone would even ask this question.
Bruce Lee, no contest.
He was after all, one of the greatest martial arts masters, EVER.
A great writer, a great actor and a great thinker in martial arts are not necessarily great at martial arts. Essentially this is what Bruce Lee is all about, he is not a pure and tested martial arts fighter but more of an actor/thinker. As for Sambo, it might be wise for everyone to look at this video showcasing the history of the sport and how it is ideally suited to a no holds barred street fight. . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hu8HlVddstg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0hMUyndNWQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng8Gb6WImX4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwyV4G9a7xg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFZ2pF-Z_ZsI just have to say, I can't believe anyone would even ask this question.

"not necessarily great at martial arts."
You don´t know anything about Bruce Lee, apparently. Go brush up on your martial arts history, it´s in dire need. He has taken down WC grandmasters - can you even comprehend how difficult that is? Im talking people sporting 10-12 punches per second while they moonkick your knees. Atleast take out the time to view both sides of the story before you land a conclusion.
As for you saying "no holds barred street fight", Fedor has NEVER fought against anyone practicing kino muay thai techniques, he would get obliterated in a street fights against Lee, because Lee really fights THAT dirty. Weight has nothing to do with this, mucle mass has nothing to do with this.
You can´t train your eyes to not leave your skullsockets, just like you cant train your ears to not get ripped off, or your nosebone getting palmed intoyour brain.
Fedor would mash his face in too much of a size difference Mkavanaugh77
size means so little in a street fight. I guess you never tried fighting for your life in the streets to know this
when i trained JKD, i took down guys every now and then that were twice my dimensional size because i obsessively targeted every part of the body you can´t train. A lock is a lock, popping it doesent take strength,it takes technique.Fedor is an amazing fighter, i´ve seen the videos, he has great technique and versatility and deserves to be where he´s at, but he is not dirty enough, far from it.
Elbows to the face ain´t dirty, same as headbutting, that´s actually the minimum standard. He has no idea what he is getting himself into, were he ever to fight Lee in a hypothetical scenario.
Bruce Lee was ungodly fast..
human reaction time is approximately .15 seconds. he could have one of your eyes in his hand before you knew the fight started
Bruce Lee was ungodly fast..
human reaction time is approximately .15 seconds. he could have one of your eyes in his hand before you knew the fight started
During filmshoots, there are scenes where they had to slow down the frames per second so the audience could actually SEE Bruce Lee throwing the punch or the kick. His speed is mindboggling, absolutely mindboggling, and i completely agree with you. You cannot guard yourself against his attacks, the human neurology forbids it on a synaptic level. A ****ing beast..Bruce Lee was ungodly fast..

A ****ing beast.. Video technology has improved since then with faster frame rate cameras and monitors, all your doing is hyping up a person. Again Lee fought against no name amature fighters, he hasnt fought against actual professionals and refuses to compete in a recognised professional competition. In a real fight Lee wouldnt be able to outpunch a proven fighter with better reflexes and would struggle against someone stronger, more experienced and with far better skills. Again why cant you guard yourself with his punches? Is this another hocus pocus ninja tricks again that only works in the movie? Jajajaj your kidding me right?
ITT: Bruce Lee fanboys BiancaDKReally? If Bruce Lee didn't appear in the movies I'd take him much more seriously.. but based on the documentary I saw of hm.. he's probably the greatest all around fighter the world has ever seen. And I don't even know who Fedor Emelianenko even is.. so I'm going to have to vote for Bruce Lee.
As they say ignorance is bliss!!!!!!! When you say all around fighter, show me a 5 minute clip of Bruce Lee doing Judo/Sambo, show me a 5 minute clip of Lee doing Greco Wrestling, show me a 5 minute clip of Lee doing boxing, and finally show me a 5 minute clip of Lee doing Muay Thai. I'm sure there are many people in existance who could also get all the titles you just mentioned.. the only thing is they never took the time to care. SO, it's perfectly possible Bruce Lee was still a better fighter. If Bruce Lee didn't appear in the movies I'd take him much more seriously.. but based on the documentary I saw of hm.. he's probably the greatest all around fighter the world has ever seen. Fedor of course maybe a little of a struggle but a easy win. You guys are forgetting bruce lee was a pacifists and didn't fight. Alot of people called him out to fight to see if he really was skilled but he always refused. So he would bascially get his *** handed to him
FreezeBlast95
Not true at all. He would beat their asses. People challenged him on movie sets, at his house and on the street all the time. He wouldn't fight them all but he would fight some and those he did, he never lost.
Not quite the UFC fighter you wanted but close enough in name....Silvia/Silva whats the difference. Silva is in a lower weight division, he might be able to fight with Fedors protege named Gegard Mousasi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAdgAXXLIn8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAdgAXXLIn8Dude is the best fighter ever, i just wanna see him fight silva tougjh

Show me his record, his competition......and these guys MUST be world class and recognised professional fighters not some asian KIMBO.Can you even really compare the two?
Fedor is a great MMA fighter, really great, but Bruce Lee was undeniably a really great "martial artist", in the sense that he practised a form of asian martial art (i realise that MMA is itself a martial art, but i mean to distinguish the two styles). Any fight using MMA rules, I would say Fedor would probably edge it, because he has more wrestling/groundwork skill. Any fight using more traditional kung fu rules, Lee would win, because he is a superior striking kung fu expert.
It's nigh on impossible to say who would win, if there are rules, since any rules would by definition favour one or the other. It's like when Ali fought that brazilian jiu-jitsu guy...there wasn't relaly a proper fight, because the guy kept to the floor, where Ali couldn't hit him, and where he couldn't do damage to Ali. Pointless.
That said, if it were a no-holds-barred, knock down drag out street fight, I'd go with Bruce. He's too fast, too strong, too skilful. It'd be tough, because Fedor has a genuine power advantage, but i don't think he'd be able to make it count, since Lee was like lightning. As with boxing, it is the fastest, not the strongest, who win real fights. (Hence why Ali is/was the greatest of all time)
Again Russia is on the fence between Asia and Europe, they have been attacked by both European and Asian invaders and so their traditional form of martial arts borrowed heavily from both Asian and European forms. In a street fight I would go with Fedor's Sambo skills, this form has been tried and tested to be the best at hand to hand combat and real world scenarios. Lees technique just looks better in the movies but are not very effective in real life. As for skill, I would go with Fedor again who began fighting at a young age, who became a Master of Sport at a young age and who continues to learn and evolve his art through continual competition attendance. This has also made him a tough customer, who has been knocked but remained composed, who has been dumped on his head and whose had submission attempts without tapping out. In short Fedor is clearly stronger, more skilled and far tougher. 2.50 into the clipCan you even really compare the two?

Now as for the punching speed. The speed displayed by Bruce Lee isnt super human or is it really unusual. His speed from what I can tell is faster than the normal person but still average for a professional fighter. Compare to Mike Tyson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRs5budNvxg Manny Pacquiao http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKPDeMXiJHc versus Bruce Lee http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BluUhcEvPtIIn the 1930's Stalin wanted Spetsnaz training to simulate real world combat senarios, thousands of prisoners were turned over to the Spetsnaz and forced to fight hand to hand and in full on death matchs.
Fedor would destroy Lee with his mixed art approach. Sambo is about kicking butt and taking names, not tooling about with philosophy and BS. Krav Maga is the only thing better than Combat Sambo.
I agree, I actually get confused sometimes between Krav Maga and Sambo since allot of the moves/techniques are very similar and used in very similar situations. Both were created for the military and are extreemly effective in CQC. Krav Maga http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAluGsN5wT0 Sambo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=371jXmmDkQ4Fedor would destroy Lee with his mixed art approach. I can't believe Bruce Lee is winning the poll, as much as I love the guy, Fedor would make him look like a child.
I wonder if the results would be different if it was Brock Lesner or Kimbo instead of Fedor >.> Well allot of these Bruce Lee guys and casual MMA fans would have heard of Kimbo so out of the three they would think that Kimbo wins against all Kimbo>Bruce Lee>Brock Lesnar>Fedor. Its sad that true and proven fighters gets overlooked by movie stars with no professional fighting experience and back yard brawlers.I can't believe Bruce Lee is winning the poll, as much as I love the guy, Fedor would make him look like a child.
