Right now, I do legs on a separate day. On one 8-week plan, Romanian deadlifts were used for back during a back-only day. Regular deadlifts are in the leg day. Same with Romanian. It's usually one or the other, though. I used them for my lower back that one plan, but since I had a leg day, too, and they were working my legs, it's better to do them on leg days.

[QUOTE="Mozelleple112"]

Since there's finally a lifting thread in GS... Anyone got progress pics/post your own pic collection etc??

here's me:

18 y/o 82kg @182cm

Teenaged

I cant see very well.

Can you post some close ups. For evaluation purposes.

Well the only proper close up picture I have is from before this summer.

Weighed about 73kg in that picture (I'm 82kg today)

Here's me standing next to an older workout buddy of mine. He's 170cm and 85kg, absolutely incredible strength numbers. On a chest/bicep day so had pump in both those muscle groups

I'm 13cm taller yet 3kg lighter. He's also about 3-4 feet closer to the mirror in this pic!!!

Boring ass legday, no upper body pump what so ever = (

@rawsavon, I do weight lifting 5 times a week, walk 7 days a week. I increased my protein intake and I gained some good muscle mass. But I also gained some fat. What I'm doing this week and possibly the next one is that I'm introducing interval training again to my routine. Also, I already have a good diet but I kind of let myself go with carbs so I'm cutting on the carbs quite to the extreme. Does this sound good to you or what?

walking is good for enjoying the scenery, killing time, etc but as far as working out, it is not worth your time IMO (once you reach a certain level)...takes too long to get anything done/doesn't raise heart rate enough to cut fat and maintain muscle go with the interval training (can be incorporated into lifting as well...as I outlined earlier)

Yea I do enjoy walking as a hobby. Back to interval training I guess. About cutting on carbs, is this alright? I didn't have a headache in a long time but today I have a terrible one.

I don't personally subscribe to a diet that 'cuts' anything. I just try to eat a healthy, balanced diet high in protein ...it is just that lots of carbs (though not all) are not what I would consider part of a healthy diet I am not saying those diets don't work though I am just saying what my philosophy is -you have to experiment and see what works best for your body, metabolism, and goals [QUOTE="BranKetra"] Wow.

@Gaza I will say this: IMO, if it (something in your workout) is not strenuous/difficult/hard, then you are doing it wrong/need to increase the difficulty

The conversion of protein to fat is practically non-existential. The conversion of carbs to fat is more likely, but still the odds aren't very good. This would require both neoglucogenesis and de novo lipogenesis to occur...and this would take several days of concentrated overfeeding...aka it's not going to happen unless you do it on purpose. I agree, a micronutrient dense diet is optimal, but it's not like your body is going to kill itself if you don't reach your quota everyday. Meal frequency is also irrelevant to body composition, so those eating 6-7 times a day are doing it rather pointlessly, especially whilst cutting.

Be sure to tan. I cannot emphasize the importance of tanning to a fitness program. Some nerds get into lifting and skip this essential component.

If that doesn't work use tanning lotion.

You were 10-11%bf in that picture where you were 73kg. If you're 82kg now I'd conservatively put you at 14-15% without seeing a picture.

What? There's no way I'm 15% bf. I'd say around 10% body fat. I googled "15% body fat" and looked and bodybuilding threads where people show a pic claiming they have 15% bf. I certainly have less fat than that, and resemble ~ 10%

If you're 20lbs heavier than you were when you were 9%. Then there is no physiological way you only gained 1% of body fat. It just doesn't work that way. Even if you were 7% in the first pic you'd still have to be 11-12% at the minimum.

Perhaps some slight recomposition has occurred, but I remain skeptical, as you don't appear to be a beginner by any means. You did take it slow, but I maintain that at the very least 8 lbs of your gains have been fat.
