[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="dukebd699"]You've never heard of planes? But we're just going to drop down in the middle of Russia? It doesn't matter that we aren't fighting for land because you still have to get to the capital. You can't just magically appear there and take it. You have to get to the capital and the further you go in, the longer it takes for supplies. Plus, we are getting supplies sent there, they aren't just there. As said before, the further you go in, the longer it takes for supplies to get to you. At some point, supplies will start running out and you either have to A) turn around or B) keep going and get plowed down.

What do you mean by this? We don't need a runway and airport to land a helicopter btw.
And to land helicopters you need air superiority or the Russian planes will pick off the helicopters and helicopter have a range of about 300 miles so where will they come from :?

We would have air superiority.....we have the best air force in the world. F-22 raptors.
Also, we could easily fly out of one of our air bases in europe or surrounding areas.
Now you hopeing that the Eu wants to join the war

Well elaborate, becuase what I got from your post was that we wouldnt go into territory that isn't secure, when that basically takes us out of the whole country since they would most certainly prepare for an invasion if war were declared.

Give it up on the supply issue dude.....
Havent you read the news on how soldier NOW are low on supplies? There's tons of webistes and organizations like these http://americansnipers.org/ that work on helping our soldiers who aren't getting what they need to fight.

No, they wouldn't need to join the war. We have plenty of U.S. air bases in Europe that we use currently.
Im sure russia would be happy with The us using the Eu as a safe haven if a war broke out the Eu could expel the Us troops
No..you said the further you go in the harder it is to get supplies. To get that far the invading army would have secured the area behind them. It is invincible to radar. A U.S. fighter plane hasn't been shot down for over 10 years. Every point you're making is terrible...it's like you guys are arguing for the sake of arguing.
What major military power has the Us fought in the last 10 years, when someone releases something new someone else finds a way to counter it

who said the conflict would be tommorow.
It would give time for the F-22 to grow there arnt enouth of them
here is a pic
Can anybody tell me why does Bush has to stick his nose where it doesnt belong, this is exactly why were at war and gas prices are up and the economy is not doing so well in the USA, if we go to war with russia god help us all this will be the next WORLD WAR. to watch the video of bush speaking go to yahoo.com, cnn.com etc sniper2606U.S. sticks its nose where it doesn't belong, alot. That is why we are the country that has been in many wars and no doubt will have other countries in the future against us. U.S. tries to please the world, but it doesn't care about any one. It's one screwed up government.
They've already commented that they think Russia needs to stop what they're doing in Georgia. They stand behind the U.S. because they know we will have there back when they need it. Not only that but Georgia is in Europe and they are allies with Europe. You think they're just going to sit back and watch a fellow country get destroyed by Russia?Vuurk

Exactly. Finally someone with some military intelligence/common sense. *sigh* This thread is getting ridiculous.
You don't even need military intelligence to figure that one out. Common sense will do. Countries like the US and Russia have been fighting in wars for a long time. I'm sure they've figured out by now how to send a truck or a plane safely to the frontline.
Surely, the war in Iraq proves that the US has mastered the use of logistics support.
THERE is NO way that US can take down Russia. NO FREAKING WAY. Russia is a giant that fought through all of WWII, and US joins at the end and claims it won the war. Any educated person will tell you that the Soviet Union won WWII, not US.
Russia will crush US, because their army isn't limited to their troops. The citizens in Russia WILL FIGHT, and the countries around it WILL FIGHT.
Oh and it's madotory to join the Russian army at 18. So, those who think US Army> Russian Military yous stupid. =)
Not true. No..it was a combined effort to win. Russia didn't win it alone either. Germany was too spread out to effectively fight. Had they been fighting on one front...it could have been different. You can't declare Russia the savior.:|THERE is NO way that US can take down Russia. NO FREAKING WAY. In other wars the citizens didn't fight.....Russia didn't even have enough arms for the military let along citizens.
Yay..and?

Sounds like a propaganda commercial to me. You could say exactly the same thing about the US because that story is BS propaganda.
I'm sure the average Russian citizen doesn't want to fight because they are merely human.
They are our ally! You are so oblivious about military and war.
Vuurk
And you seem to be oblivious about the volatility of foreign relations. If, God forbid, war were to break out between the US and Russia the smartest thing the EU could do would be to expel American troops from their borders. That way they don't get drawn in themselves, allies or not
That's because people don't fight wars to gain land....this isn't the 14th century anymore.
Vuurk
:| Then what has Russia been doing in Georgia? I don't think they invaded to have some fun.
What did Iraq do in Kuwait? I don't think the Iraqis invaded to have fun either.
How about the Korean War? Or the Vietnam War? Or the Afghanistan War? Most wars today are just as much about territory as they have been in the past. Of course there is the 2003 Invasion of Iraq, but that is simply the exception that proves the rule.
Georgia asked China to Step in and stop Russia, that would be an interesting fight.. And If Bush hadn't said anything what kind of president would he be, We are after all a peacekeeping country in in the NATO, and the UN. ferrari2001Yeah, he cant just say anything. I am not supporting the guy because we can all agree that he is a first class tard but being one of the biggest nations as far as power and whatnot in the world we at least have to say something for the press/world/nato/eu....ect.
