I said that it was probably a natural thing, but still a sin. He proposes that homosexuality can be cured through thinking rationally.

 

For instance: One assumes that they are a male or female. They see that males mate with females and so on. They conclude it is the natural order. Therefore they must become part of that natural order.

Rational thinking isn't going to change what you are.  It is only going to change your actions.  

this is an rather old style thinking, it assumes that nature has intentions, and evolution is goal oriented. In other words, treating nature/evolution as religions.

This mentality that homosexuality is a choice, it's a virus,disease, iraationaly behaviour or anything of the sort needs to stop. Gay people are not bad people, they are not crazy people and they are not some sort of freakishly different human beings.

Here's a better question, whether you support or oppose gays and their right to marriage, or rights to anything really. If they found a "cure" for it tomorrow, A.) would that be ethical/okay and B.) would it be okay for people to choose it? Better yet. Now that we have that, we can change our sexual preferences to straight, bi, or gay and back. Would it be ethical or okay for a person to change their preference just like that?
