it gets pretty hot where i live. its been averaging about 101 degress for about 3 weeks now. well the passenger front window was broken. it completely shattered. i had all my windows closed at the time. somebody could had just broke it but its doubtful since nothing was taken, and i had an expensive easton baseball bat in the front seat.

I don't think so. :?

I've had my car/van windows busted three times and they've never taken anything. I think that some kids do it for a rush, and then run off giggling as soon as it's broken.

They probably busted it for the lulz and not for stealing anything.

Windows are designed to handle extreme conditions, so it's doubtfull. Most likely vandalism.

Well, a little CSI is in order. Is the broken glass mostly on the outside of the car, or on the inside??

Did research, some dudes window broke when he was rolling it up, it could be, it might not be, it's either vandalisim or window, but I think windows are designed for that. Like your house windows and things..

I don't think it has anything to do with the weather.

If the heat made it expand so much that it couldn't expand in the space it was in, it could break or if there was a great temperature change in a short amount of time, the shock could break the glass. Someone probably broke your window.

almost none on the outside, little inside and most inside the door panel. i can hear all the glass rattle as i close the door. maybe the tint film made it all fall staight down into the door.

It could. Where was most of the glass from the window. Inside or outside the car? If inside, vandalism. Outside, could be due to trapped heat in the car and blew your window. Seen it happen to a back windshield. Most likely a vandalism.

I'm pretty sure someone broke your window. I live in Phoenix, both of my cars have tinted windows along with millions of others and they don't break because of the heat.

If you went somewhere really cold then somewhere really hot immediately then maybe. Otherwise, someone broke your window.

Hmm...interesting. Id either say it was vandalism, or somehow the window fell off its "tracks", fell down into your door, and broke as a result. I dont think it was the heat though.

I think the window falling is the best theory since most of the glass is inside the panel.

Heat wouldn't be able to get in as easily so it should be cooler.

Probably vandals. Maybe they got spooked by someone and took off before they could take anything.
