yes they can, for example i was in a private charter, and they deemed certain people uncapable and they would not let them in, this varied on test results, and maybe past events

I don't see why not. It's not publicly funded.

They probably didn't let you in because you were ugly or something...

Private schools can deny admission to anyone they wish. Also, private schools serve the public masses.

depends on the basis of denial, they can't deny it on the basis of race for example.

I'm not sure. I just know they shouldn't exist if everyone wishes to keep rattling on about equality.

Sure. Illegal immigrants, lack of correct medication by way of shots to protect from certain diseases, large criminal records, etc.

Protected classes as defined in the 1967 Civil Rights Act notwithstanding; even private schools are a public accommodation.

Don't think you can discriminate based on race. But athletics schools and all-boy/girl schools could probably turn you down based on the other reasons.

Although they are private I do not think a private school can deny admission based on race.

The trick is, proving that was the reason you were denied.

I don't believe they can deny based on those criteria.

If they fail the entrance test in any way then no. Some Schools are religion based so they might only accept entrants of a certain religion.

Go read some books.

You can be any religion you want, and they can't deny you based on that. But you still have to attend that school's religious class, I think.

I suggest starting with the text of the Civil Rights Act...
