Can you donate beer bottle caps to make wheelchairs?

My college roomates and I throughout the year threw out beer bottle caps behind the TV. On the last day before we left we counted them up and we have over 3000 and thought maybe we could donate them to a company to make wheelchairs, much like they do with pop can tabs. Does anyone know if you can do this?

Seems that the whole bottle cap for wheelchair campaign in the UK may have been a hoax.

Still, you could always craft a beer bottle cap wheelchair yourself and deliver it to a children's hospital in person - if you've got the free time to drink that much beer, you might as well put it to good use :P

I don't know about wheelchairs, but you can melt them down and create a bucket.
