I have a lot of new films I have just bought for over the holiday and although I am a fan of horror, sometimes I really don't enjoy watching certain ones alone. For example, movies like Paranormal Activity 2 which leaves you with an "omg not going downstairs alone" feeling after it .... :P

What do you guys think about this subject? Plain horror with plenty of action I am fine with but too much suspense and I have to stop it until a friend watches it with me because I get way too creeped out even though I know it is just a film!

I think the Paranoraml Activity doesn't even count as horror...I hate that franchise so much. It's just so terrible.

And yes, I can watch them alone. I watched them all my life and the last one to "creep" me out would be The Strangers.

It doesn't matter whether I watch them alone or not. The effect is still the same.

As long as it isn't about the supernatural world, I can watch it. You present me with anything ghost/demon related, no dice for me.

Yes since I can differentiate a movie from reality. There are no horror movies that are actually scary anyway.

also: most of the modern horror movies are way too tongue-in-cheek.

That's because you were seven. Once you get older thing's start to get less and less scary.

It's more fun to needle people when they freak out over a horror movie, so option 2.

Not for everybody, I have a few friends that can't watch horrors at all and if they do, they jump or scream at every little thing

I enjoy watching asian horror films on my own. But for the most part, I outright refuse to watch the majority of american horror films. Maybe it's because I've got a really good imagination.....but the typical torture-like gore often turns my stomach.

I can watch them alone in the dark... BUT people have to be in the house...

I can't watch a scary movie and know I'm the only one home... I'd have to have my door open and my lights on then...

I cant say I have ever watched a horror movie alone, because they are fun to watch with another person or group so you can Mystery Science them. Its rare a horror film is actually good enough to take seriously so its more for poops and giggles.

Yeah, for whatever reason I don't find them as scary when I watch them alone, though in general any of my movie experiences are enhanced when I watch with other people.

I prefer it that way most of the time. Whenever I watch horror movies with others it ends up becoming a comedy (all though that's not always a bad thing).

I dun believe those who claim they can. it's either the movie isn't scary or they didn't follow the whole plot from the begining so they aren't into the movie ..... I claim I am a brave person, and yet the idea of watching horror movies alone terrifies me.
