I can't consume dairy products without pain much later. It sucks cause all the good foods are full of dairy: ice cream, yogurt, pizza, etc.
How about you?

I'm usually fine with most dairy products taken in moderation, but unfortunately like most folks in the world I don't have the mutated gene that allows me to consume milk into adulthood without a fair amount of discomfort. Even more annoying is the fact that I'm fairly allergic to soy and almond alternatives...sad considering how delicious I find chocolate Silk soy milkÂ
[QUOTE="KiIIyou"]Get raw unmessed with milk, no problems with that kind :3thegergWhat makes you think that? But really doe. The processed kind of milk kills the lactase enzymes and that's the one that breaks down the sugary lactose. I forget why zacly but it might be because lots of people don't have alot of that lactase inside em already.

I don't think my body can tolerate not having milk. It's the only drink that doesn't taste like piss to me.
Even water?I don't think my body can tolerate not having milk. It's the only drink that doesn't taste like piss to me.

I think that's backwards.Being able to consume milk is actually abnormal relative to the rest of the world

Yeah. I have cereal and milk for breakfast most every day. Â I pity people who can't drink/ have it. Sucks big time.
I'm from Wisconsin so I'm contractually obligated to down at least seven gallons of the stuff per month.

the majority of the worlds population in lactose intolerant
I don't believe that....Apparently Asians have some problem with it...not sure what they use to constitute Asian for the stats...but using stats for the Us........Seems it's a minority...I think that's backwards.[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="lostrib"]

I've actually heard that the fact that s many people can drink milk past their baby years is a mutation and that people who are lactose intolerant are the technically "normal" people.

I don't believe that....that doesn't make it incorrect. Lactase persistent is a relatively recent mutation and is mainly common only in Europe, america, and some parts of Africa. It is normal for mammals to become lactose intolerant after weaning

this is true. being able to drink milk is only common in regions where lactase persistence would be evolutionarily beneficial

And from reading the stats....milk isn't an important food product in Asian countries. But not overall....I'm from Wisconsin so I'm contractually obligated to down at least seven gallons of the stuff per month.
THE_DRUGGIE
I live in Wisconsin, but I didn't grow up here. I only feel boligated to eat a lot of cheese, brats, fried fish and drink lots of beer.

It seems to be race specific with Caucasians at 7-10%.....[QUOTE="lostrib"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"] And from reading the stats....milk isn't an important food product in Asian countries. But not overall....LJS9502_basic
