i just saw this on youtube and cant find a link for the article BUT it explains it in the vid...

"the chief economist of the Toronto Dominion bank suggests that Canadians should consider adopting a common currency with the United States......"

yes and no? I can kind of see why it could make sense seeing as how 90% of canada's trade is w/ the US and the EU also has a common currency that has worked out. But they're still two different nations with different economies, politics etc. Canada is already pretty americanized and adopting a common currency would just add to thatsilky_smooth8

Would help Canada, their currency has always been slightly behind the Dollar, though recently they are about even.

I think it would be a good idea, Europe is doing it, why not North America?

Canada is democratic, leaning towards socialism, while the U.S. is democratic leaning towards anarchy. That line on the map signifies a significant difference. And Canada and the U.S. are actually quite similar compared to a lot of neighbouring countries. At least we can agree on religion and governmental structure.
