I make 700$ a month and have a 250$ car payment, should i be able to manage and still have some cash left?

You have a car now with a $250 payment and you want a new car? or the payment on the mustang would be $250 a month?
If you have a working vehicle now, don't buy a new car. You're only making $700 a month, it isn't worth it. If you have a car now, that works and gets you from point A to point B then stick with it.
It shouldn't be too high. I'm only 16 and I own a 2006 Mitsubishi eclipse (gs). I'm under my parents and I only pay $170 a month. Only thing is I own the whole car, no payments. I also live in Washington state, so yours may be lower or higher depending on where you live.

You may have the money now for the car and insurance payments. However, soon you will have more responsibilities and bills and your available budget shrinks. For instance,I graduated from college and came back to live with my parents for a while. I good a decent job and bought a nice car and the insurance is $100 per month. I have more than enough money for that. However, now I want to move into an apartment, and suddenly, I realize I'm spending a huge chunk of change on my car. I'd rather have a more average car and a nice apartment than the other way around. A car is a long term commitment (I've got 5 years left on my loan). Listen to your parents: they are considering factors that you aren't.
Im not going to a car dealerrship and buying a brand spanking new car for 25K$, i was going to buy a used mustange gt around the price range of 7k$ and should be able to pay it off within several years, no big deal really. And soon, i will get promoted so it makes paying for it even easier, and i dont have to worry about getting an apartment or any of that stuff in two years anyways.Montaya

they pop up ever once in a while on craigslist in my area and are in good order and dealership guraneteed under 100k miles. And like i said, i dont have to worry about bills for several years aside from my car payment and a little portion of insurance money i have to contribute to my parents. anyways thanks for the input, i have a better general idea of howmuch this is going to cost.
