For me it's cats, but I like dogs as well. I think people tend to lean more towards whichever one was their first pet, or at least the first one they can remember more vividly. Also, hate is a strong word people.
Cats and I'm allergic to them. Cats just run it and they know it. Dogs are pretty dumb and way less chills. I like both but cats are more low maintenance and that's better for me.

I think it has to do with personality
I think it leans more towards if you like to have friends, or friends that spit on the back of your head everytime you turn around.
while I like both, I prefer dogs. Mostly because I know they can take care of themselves when I let them outside. I did had a cat though. But it went missing. I think it got eaten by a cobra cause there was one very close to my house.
