Change is coming to GameSpot! What are OT's thoughts on this? After all, this board is being carried over - we've managed to survive another GameSpot redesign! :D
Yep I saw the banner at the top of the page. To bad gamespots inability to listen to their users has made this forum (and the site in general) a ghost town.
Also I just got mailed about converting unions into public forums and the deadline is October 11th. Does that mean that the 11th is the date of the switch over?

A mail I just received about unions say unless you apply for a switch to public forum then they will be lost on October 11th. Also the FAQ page says expect the change beginning to mid-October. The 11th sounds like a pretty plausible date.
I'd rather not leave, as I've grown to like GameSpot's forum community, but with everyone else leaving, and my extreme dislike of the changes coming, I think my departure is inevitable.

The reason we cant have gif sigs is because.....they're distracting? Distracting from what? What makes them anymore distracting than other sigs? Thats not rational at all GS!

Too little, too late. We've been b!tching for years about changes that needed to happen. Now they are cutting all the unique features that make Gamespot stand out on the internet, and trying to accomplish something that is literally impossible to do on the internet (make an active community that is harshly censored to maintain the illusion of "respect" amongst it's userbase). If I don't absolutely adore the new UI, I very much foresee my departure after 8 solid years of devotion to this site (it's the only gaming site I've ever invested substantial time into). There are a lot of people I'll miss, but fortunately a lot of them are available on other, smaller community sites.

Seems like they are going the gamepro route and just changing things without listening to feedback..just hope it does not kill this site like it did to gamepro

I told you to go seek out answers the other day since it was obvs no one other then our OT mods would be checking up on it.
