Incredible film. Not just because of the message it expresses or the emotion of the movie but also just an amazing feat in cinematography.

[QUOTE="Sora529"]IMO, I Am Legend and 28 Days/Weeks Later kicked the **** out of Children of Men. Don't get me wrong, Children of Men was interesting, but as a whole it didn't really do it for me.hachiman128

Agreed, although I haven't seen 28 Weeks Later yet.

I disagree, I am legend was mediocre at best, it was an insult to the book.

Is the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. based on this movie?

Loosely yes. The movie doesn't contain much, if any horror.

I thought it was good. I dont really wanna watch it again though, it was too slow for my taste. The one shot at the end was amazing, that long shot with no cuts, that was absolutely stunning and impressive. but it didnt "move" me like it did you guys.

Mad Max/Road Warrior, along with Children of men are all in my top 10 favorite movies.

Oh, and I am Legend sucked hugely, such a dissapointment. It's one of those movies where you sit there and point out the things you would change to make it a truely great movie.

Vis-a-Vis

Yessir. Mad Max and the Road Warrior are some of my faves.

I absolutley loved Children of Men, It actually creeped me out a few times, just watching the society they were in tear itself apart.

[QUOTE="B05T0N"]One of the most overrated movies of all time.A_Tarkovsky

And nothing to back up such an absurd claim.

I'm not in love with it, but I greatly admire Children of Men nonetheless. There were scenes in there unlike anything I've ever seen before. I would've preferred a more formalistic visual sense, but that's pure taste.

You didn't find the religious undertones to be annoying?

Personally I barely noticed them.

The only undertone i noticed, well more of an overtone really, was the joke that she was a virgin. That's pretty much it.

I too was in awe afterwards. It was one of the most visually stunning films I have ever seen, the camerawork and cinematography was just extraordinary. The only regret I have is not seeing in the theatre, it would have been even better on the big screen :(

zepman71

I saw it in the theatre, on the big screen, 2 nights in a row :)

The moment I left the theater I considered it one of the greatest films ever made.BatmanBegins24

I couldn't have put it better.

If anything, Stalker is an allegorical examination on the nature of faith. It's a film that contains so much that one couldn't possibly recognize 25% of what's in it. It's my fourth favorite film of all time, and Tarkovsky's greatest masterpiece, but I seriously doubt everyone who sees it will love it. Eastern-European cinema is the ultimate acquired taste.

Why? It's not like it's anything new.
