China Government Oficially Bans Horror Movies

Producers have around three weeks to look through their tapes for "horror" and report it to authorities, the General Administration of Press and Publications said in a statement posted on the government Web site.

Besides it's not like there banning all movies...just horror movies,which is understandable,I'd wish I'd never been exposed to the likes of nightmare on elm-street and alien ect,they mess with your mind as a kid lol
