[QUOTE="abdelmessih101"]I don't like religions that promote violence.taj7575

then i guess you like all religions

In Islam, don't they tell you that you have to do defend the faith in order to get into heaven, violently or otherwise? Maybe I should say I don't like religions that condone violence instead.

no it doesn't, but the media will have you believe otherwise, you should never force someone to be a muslim, and use violence as a last result if someone is actively attacking you.

No, I'm not taking about trying to get converts. I'm taking about the fact that violence is condoned, and in some cases promoted, for the defense of Islam.

Im not a big genius with religious things, but do you realize how far some christians go for trying to convert people?

Okay, so tell me where in the Bible it says that what they're doing is acceptable. Just because people call themselves Christian doesn't mean they are true Christians. I could tell you that I'm on diet, but if you see me sneaking snacks late at night, will you still believe me?

Ok then, Ill back that up too. Just because people say they're muslims, doesnt mean they are. You came in here saying pretty much Islam is an evil religion. I have muslim friends. Theyre as normal as ever. Maybe theres just some muslims that embarass their religion, which can be said about every religion.

I'm not saying they are and I have never said Islam is an evil religion so don't put words in my mouth. I even admitted that I have not read the Qu'ran, and that I've only learned little bits and pieces about Islam from other sources and other people which I do trust. And I did ask for others to correct me if anything I've said about Islam is wrong - I would always like to learn more, but of course, since this is the internet, I would need proof, preferrably directly out of the Qu'ran.

Please think about what you're going to say very carefully before you post next time.

There are a lot of videos on youtube exposing some twists and other manipulations of politicians. You could try searching for 9/11 coincidences. There are quite a few good books about them, too, like some guy with the last name of Griffin. I can't recall too much. kakashi552

Yup I've heard a few of the 9/11 ones. Like a bomb in the tower. They make perfect sence, yet, ignored.

And those youtube videos exposing our government, i have watched, but those videos only have 1.2k views. A lot of those views are foreigners too. Why some dont like america is because of the lies that just slip past us.

But yes, ive watched those vids, and theyre great.

AAAAAArghh i just accidentall deleted my whole reply. Now go pack your bags!

this is all i have left. Evidently, Firefox cannot copy and paste correctly.

I never meant you should barge into a corporate building to stop their machines! We just seemed to be thinking different things. i just wanted to establish that we both believe in stopping evil. Somehow.

And i still remember: Dulce bellum inexpertis. War is sweet to those That have never experienced it. We would all think differently if we saw the horrors of war.

And: The mosquito thing? Yeah, sorry about that. I just thought it would be better not to itch at that moment. I tried to ignore the problem (turn the other cheek), but it didn't work.

I hate firefox...*grumble*...

 I hate when I lose a long post because computer screwed up on me!

And I agree with most of your post except for the mosquito thing. Turning the other cheek is not about ignoring the problem at all, (not the Bible's use of it anyway), but rather about facing the problem and addressing it with nonviolence. It's not saying that you should run away from or ignore your problems, not in the least bit. - I think this is where you're misunderstanding has been. "Turn the other cheek," when used in society, means ignore the problem, but that's not what it means in the context of the Bible. I think now you might better understand what I've been trying to say all along. :)

And yes - I should get to packing my bags. :P

If i try copy/pasting by right-clicking from the GameSpot Forum Textbox thingymajig, it says:

"Cut/Copy/Paste is not available in Mozilla and Firefox. Do you want more information about this issue?"

At the time, i was using the mouse, so i right-clicked and it messed up. Ctrl+ c/v does indeed work.

EDIT: Ah. I have to change my preferences, because this is "unpriveleged script." It does this to protect users' private info.

I chose Christianity, even though I'm Agnostic. I dont know why anyone who isn't Islamic would choose Islam. A person judges a religion by its followers... and I would much rather follow Christianity in this day and age.

In my opinion, Islam has better morals. Plus, it's easier to put into your everyday life. The only big thing for anyone's budget is the hajj to Mecca, but you only have to do that once in your whole lifetime. Easiest way to get 72 virgins.

First of all, thanks for the compliment - I'm enjoying this conversation as well. :)

Yes of course I agree that evil is wrong and must be stopped, but, *incoming cliche* two wrongs don't make a right. By using violence to stop violence, you're just putting yourself on the same level as the evil-doer you're trying to stop.

Violence is wrong, and there is no need for it anymore because we live in a much more civilized society than there was 2000 years ago when society was barbaric. Now, even in worst case scenarios, when all nonviolent methods have not worked, you just pray about it and leave the rest to God. By not resorting to violence, you are showing that you're morally superior to your enemy, and that you won't abandon your beliefs even in the toughest of times.

abdelmessih101
Dear sir, with all due respect to you and all your post I must say you're a good man, but you're naive one. Violence have been and always been part of human nature, don't even try to denied it, and you should also note what that Kakashi making several underlined points that said violence only wil be used as LAST RESORT, if there's no any other way that worked. For example if there's pshycopaths come storming to your house with a shot gun threatening your wife and children or whoever you care for in this matter, what will you do? You will try to stop him with all your migh I presume? First you will try to talk out of it to him and if that doesn't work? Will you just stood there and let the mad man slain them? As you and I already know, there are somethings in life that you can't avoid, as co-relate to each other and violence (sadly) is one of them.

I like it when mods allow topics like these which are not only sensitive, but open the door for fights and flaming and fruitless arguments and other spammish topics like when someone celebrates the number of posts he/she has and lock my birthday topic... Yes I'm bitter!

Anyways, the source of the three Abrahamic religions is one however, Islam is the only religion that hasn't changed ever since the messege reached prophet Mohammad pbuh and won't change* this is why there are mijahideen and people who bomb themselves btw, some call them extremists but they're only doing it to keep the holy book from changing* I believe in the three Abrahamic religions and nothing else but I only practise Islam because the two previous religions were changed by people.

[QUOTE="Theokhoth"]If I were Islamic, I'd probably be dead now. So. . . . .Theokhoth

why'd you say that.

i'm a muslim

Well, I suppose it would depend on the country I live in, so that statement wasn't quite right. Sorry.

 Blatant ignorance.

I apologised. I simply misstated what I meant.

I'm muslim. Next time you see many muslim posters think twice before posting funny jokes like the one you just said and there's nothing wrong with saying I don't freaking know about *insert a religion here* and ask! Just ask!

It wasn't a joke. And I ended up being moderated for it.

It was resolved later on in the topic anyway (about page three or four).

I didn't report you. I don't report anyone here btw... but anyways, just ask if you don't know about something.

At least you're not like my english teacher... She's Kuwaiti and insults Kuwaiti people and muslim and insults muslims.
