How do you know the rapture hasn't already occurred?Jandurin
You mean the city? I'll buy that. Maybe no one has found it yet as it's at the bottom of the ocean.....
;)
What do you mean when you say rapture?GameGuy642003Divine providence preforming acts of anal sodomy with regards to the human species.
[QUOTE="worlock77"]
Because everyone who holds such beliefs are certain that they will be among the chosen people. And if they're still here then certainly the Rapture hasn't happened yet.
Necrifer
Exactly.
They're not in heaven cuz the rapture hasn't occured.
But maybe it did happen and God decided that there were only like 50 people worthy of entering Heaven.

The rapture isn't anywhere in the bible,it was just made up by some churches and that's about it. Church doctrine does not equal Bible, kind of like the Catholics. Many of their views and teachings have NOTHING to do with the bible at all, like the pope being ableto talk to God or how the Catholic Church was started by Jesus.
Sorry but the pope is just a man and isn't in the bible, and Jesus didn't start any church. He was Jewish and went to synagouges, there was no church in his lifetime. None of that is in the bible, just like the rapture. I wish more people would actually read it and understand it...

Actually the Rapture is the the Bible, or at least based on certain Biblical passages, notably in the First Epistle to the Thessalonians.
What's your definition of rapture? The rapture isn't anywhere in the bible,it was just made up by some churches and that's about it. Church doctrine does not equal Bible, kind of like the Catholics. Have you read it? It dosen't say anywhere that billions of people will get wisped up to heaven, it's simply describing the final days before Jesus is supposed to come back to rid the world of evil and judge the sins of man and bring in a world of peace. It doesn't say anything about people magically teleporting to heaven.
hence my point how do you know it hasn't already happened maybe it was only a few thousand devout people or who knows whatIt dosen't say anywhere that billions of people will get wisped up to heaven

[QUOTE="ShadowMoses900"]So then what's the Book of Revelation about? A lot of Bible scholars believe that the Book of Revelations is a story of man's conversion to Christianity through poetical text. Also if you make the implication that Jesus is the Son of God then it is safe to assume that the Catholic Church was started by Jesus Christ since Jesus said to Peter (the first Pope aka First Bishop of Rome) Matthew 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.The rapture isn't anywhere in the bible,it was just made up by some churches and that's about it. Jandurin
It was 9/11
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!
maybe if the bible were a popup book people would understand it better as it is smhJandurinHeh... I have to believe that enterprising christian evangelicals have already done just that. --- Literally 8 seconds and one google search later... OH wow.... in fact it turns out that there is a LOT of pop-up bliblical material . :o
I hear in the book of revelations, the four horsemen will rise up and wrech havok.Blue-Skyis that during the rapture or after or just in general and has nothing to do with thread just curious
[QUOTE="Blue-Sky"]I hear in the book of revelations, the four horsemen will rise up and wrech havok.Jandurinis that during the rapture or after or just in general and has nothing to do with thread just curious Rapture = big hoover sucking the "good" people to heaven so they don't have to endure the end of the world process, including the breaking of the sevend seal, the horsemen, etc. You can tell that the people who wrote and edited this one were higher than kites on SOMETHING.

I thought the point of rapture was for the christians to be saved, while the horsemen cause famine and terrible warfare.
Anyway, it can't be as bad the atheist apocalypse, beware the horror.
I hear in the book of revelations, the four horsemen will rise up and wreak havok.
on horses....
with bows and arrows...
Blue-Sky
It's symbolic, not literal. Each of the horsemen cayyr an item and ride a different color horse, for instance one of the horsemen carries a scale and this can be intertpeted in different ways. Some think it symbolises economic collapse while others think that the author (believed to be John, but no one issure)was trying to convey anti Roman messages(this is during a time when the early Christians were being persecuted by Romans)
Like I said either way it's symbolic and isn't meant to be taken literally.
In the rapture ain't there supposed to be a good guy who tries to lead savable people to salvation and an Anti-christ who tries to lead them to damnation or something?
Wonder who they were.
