We have more choices then just Hillary or Trump. Check out the link below, thank goodness.

Gary Johnson, and Bill Weld are the choices ..

I like Jill Stein and Gary Johnson, but if Bernie couldn't last after all of his campaigning then these two figurative unknowns will not. We are doomed, and if anyone can honestly tell me why they trust trump or hiliary 100% without a gun to the head or any of this "lesser of two evil nonsense" then I will be shocked.

Hopefully Johnson polls high enough to get into the debates.

I don't fvck with Libertarianism and Jill Stein is a fucking idiot who is not even remotely qualified to be President.

Also, even if I hated Hillary (I don't), I recognize that a vote for alternative candidates helps Trump. I will not do anything to help Trump.

I will be voting for third party. Unfortunately my state senate seats aren't up for reelection until 2018, otherwise I'd vote for a Republican senate candidate.

Voting for a third party is a waste of a vote. They have no chance in hell of winning and it might let the candidate you like least win the election.

People prefer voting for the lesser of two evil since they've been indoctrinated to think that those are their only two choices and that other parties don't ever have a chance, discounting all possibility.

Yep (except for possibly the Jill Stein remark. I know little about her so I can't comment on her qualifications, but it doesn't matter anyway - these people have no chance of winning).

There may be more than two choices but one of those two choices will win and the odds are 100%.

Do you want your vote to count?

And this is what is wrong with "democracy". People have to vote strategically counter to someone they don't want to become leader, rather than vote for the person they think best represents their ideals.

The last election in Canada was just like this.

@foxhound_fox:

Wrong....I like Hillary's ideals a la Obama, I like where Hillary wants to go with the presidency.....personally, she has her faults like anyone but I don't demonize her, and yes, a vote for anyone other than Hillary will likely be a vote for Trump, and that's as bad as it can get.

But the main reason I will vote for Hillary is because I think she will be a good president. I don't get caught up with the bullcrap the 20 year old armchair political experts in here have to say. To me, it's who will do the best job and be most effective as president. I think she will be...by far! To me it's about the bottom line.

Every voter, especially in the US, should know the difference between single round and 2 round elections, and consider that when voting.

We learned our lesson from Ralph Nader's 3rd party run in 2000... Indirectly resulted in one of the 5 worst presidents in U.S. history.

That said, I fully support any Republican that votes 3rd party in this general election.

lol. Moving to Canada because one doesn't like the choices for President is absurd. I'm going to be embarrassed as **** for our nation if we elect Trump and I'll definitely be concerned about the future, but I won't move. That makes zero sense.

Edit: that being said, I will say that it's reasonable for Hispanics and Muslims to consider moving if Trump got elected.

Sounds like Nazi Germany. I would have moved from there even though I am not a Jew. It's not inconceivable to me that Trump could cause us such problems that I would want to move. Wanting to and being able to are two different things though.

@LJS9502_basic: Terrible thing to say to people. The whole idea of democracy is to vote who you believe is the best candidate, not who the lesser of the two evils is. That type of outlook is why we always have to choose between the lesser of the two evils.

But to give my two cents on the election, Hillary isn't going to intentionally screw up her presidency if she becomes the winner. Too much is on the line. She's going to go down in history as the first female president, do you think anybody with that opportunity would want their name disgraced in history books? I don't think so. Doesn't mean I think she'll be a good president. Her track record is horrible and she does not have the foresight to make smart decisions.

About Donald Trump, I'm not entirely sure. I think he's for sure playing everybody, but I can't decide if it's going to turn out good or bad. Either way, if he doesn't win this election, this won't be the last we'll see of him. Hillary will either somehow manage to get herself in another scandal or just do a terrible job as president, then, if Trump is smart, he'll run for re-election and be a shoe-in. Which isn't necessarily a terrible thing. If he pulls us out of NATO and NAFTA, I see another stock market drop just like we saw in London after the Brexit. That would be the time to buy as many stocks as possible. Or possibly short the market, but I don't know too much about that.

@LJS9502_basic: I know you didn't, you said voting for a third party is a wasted vote. But there's a lot of people out there who feel like they are voting for the lesser of the two evils because any third party candidate could never win. If that way of thinking was eliminated though, it wouldn't have to be that way.

Anyone who votes for her doesn't necessarily like her but is trying to keep a madman like Trump from committing many rash and reckless disasters. Hillary should be in prison and Trump should be there with her but in the mental asylum wing.

There is no such thing as a wasted vote. It's just the primary parties trying to dissuade you from excercising your rights.
