trees aren't animals, so they could.God also said animals have no souls so what u heard is wrong.Oh and i guess that means even trees have freewill.

Watch the movie "The Island" and then make your decision. It shows how a good idea can go horribly wrong and touches on the ethics of the topic.

i agree cloning can go terribly wrong and the island really makes you think about that sort of stuff. i personally think that cloning is a bad idea
[QUOTE="MgamerBD"]souls dont exist...so you cant clone it anyways[QUOTE="Serial-No_3404"][QUOTE="MgamerBD"]Cloning is wrong and u can't clone a soul it just ain't right.ALTER_duo
Souls do exist what do u think makes us choose between right and wrong, what do u think makes us different from animals, How do u think we have freewill and is the dominant species of the world. Yeah we do have a soul.
u have no tanigable proof and no one ever will so dont even try to debate this.

Trees do not have brains. Even if they did, they couldn't really do much, considering they don't have a means of locomotion,
Animals do have brains, therefore allowing them to have free will. And as you should know, humans are animals. No souls, though.
Besides, where would said soul be in the human body?

That would be your conscience. Consciences are not souls.

Or, it could be that he doesn't believe that has anything to with a supposed soul. Maybe it's because of something else, like a more developed brain. Many serial killers don't feel guilt when they murder or steal, so they do it. Sometimes that's because of a problem with their brain. So some may make the connection between conscience and decision making having something to do with the brain.

altough there is like 10% of the human geneo that is un mapped and some say that its the mapping of the soul if one exisits. my personal opinion is that im not sure souls exsists sure that has to be something there but well never know wat it is and sure we can try but we will probably never figure it out

Yeah let me see an animal act out of instinct then we can talk.

The idea seems funny, but cloning is not what you think it is. It's basicly a DNA copy of yourself. You will have the same genetic abilities and structure, but that is it. It will have a different life experience, and probably end up in a completely different way. Also the fact that the clone knows it is a clone can lead to depression and presentation angst.

we havent really tried it yet and we wont know these things until we do although i do still think its wrong im torn between it because if we can create life then we can do almost anything, which sounds bad and stuff but you know there's no other way to say it

We can just use the same method as we did with Dolly the Sheep. Extract DNA from the subject we want to clone, merge it with an empty egg-cell. Than put it in a "suffrogate" mother or what you call it. Boom, you have a baby with same DNA as the subject. There are some problems though. The merging process is really luck driven, and they had to try over 100 times before Dolly was born. Pluss, Dolly died early because of different sicknesses. You now have a baby with same DNA. Now you have to make the baby grow up in EXACT the same enviroments as the subject to get a clone that acts and thinks the same as the subject....

its a hard science to understand and its never going to be perfected at least at this point. studies need to be done fiest but im not sure if they should or not

I see no reason why they should. Only because someone looks like you, shouldn't mean they should be your slave or whatever you want a clone for. Pluss, human experimenting is often seen as non-ethical.
it really isn't sinful, but it really isn't right either. I mean, those cloned sheep only lasted a few hours, and the facial defects and extra limbs made them a little bit uncomfortable in their shorts lives.huladog123
Dolly the sheep lived for 10 years or something like that.

true. i just dont know, i dont think that expereimenting on others is right, even on animals. I just dont know, i mean it's not that it's confusing it's just.....well i dont know.... im a at a loss for words on this subject now :(
Mabye we can clone human limbs if someone loses an arm!?!?!
stevendiep_100
Maybe not arms, but with stem-cell research, we have managed to clone organs that can replace defect ones.

Here's the question...why are we assuming that the clone is supposed to be exactly like the original in all ways?
I mean, what if you want a kid but your testicles got chopped off? Sure, you and your wife could simply adopt a kid, but what if you don't want your bloodline to die out? You could clone yourself and raise your clone as your son. You wouldn't even have to ever tell him that he's a clone. As far as you're concerned, the fact that he's a clone doesn't matter. What matters is that medical science has given you a son, even though you have no testicles.
