Witnessed a driveby in Richmond, CA a few years ago. I was on one corner, a couple houses up, the guy (assuming a drug dealer, he was standing outside that corner store four hours) was on the opposite corner and got shot.

There was a night when I was walking to a bus stop from the job I had at the time. It was called Schlotzsky's Deli. I had to walk through the Target parking lot to get to the bus stop which happens to have me walk directly next to an Applebee's. That night about an hour after I walked past it there was a murder in the Applebee's. After I had gotten on the bus I had to transfer to another bus to get home which put me on the corner of Sunset and Boulder Hwy(This is in Las Vegas NV). I sat at the bus stop and got on the bus when it arrived as it showed up every 30 minutes or so even in the early AM hours when this all took place. About 2 hours after I got on that final bus a homeless person was murdered at that corner. This all happened on the same night. Beyond that I don't know of any other murder's I have been near, I found out about both the next day at work when the police came in to tell us what happened at the Applebee's.

I can't find information about the homeless person who was murdered that same night but that doesn't surprise me

I also worked at a deli called Atlanta Bread Company and we had police come in and ask about one of the workers we used to employ. Apparently a week or so after he had quit he killed someone and torched the body. That really wasn't that close though except in the sense that I worked with a murderer before he commited his murder
Forgot about that last one till I was sitting here thinking about it. All of this happened between 6-7 years ago and I have not had anything similar happen since

Not creeper status, but since I'm from LV as well....I know exactly where that is and I heard about this. I stayed at a hotel a long time ago where there was a murder, happened while my family and I were asleep.
In my community, about 5km from my house, a Muslim family committed an honour killing. The father and son knocked the daughter unconscious, threw her in a van, and burned her alive.
That's terrible. I can't believe some Muslims are actually like that. :(In my community, about 5km from my house, a Muslim family committed an honour killing. The father and son knocked the daughter unconscious, threw her in a van, and burned her alive.

There have been at least 7 murder cases in my neighborhood, and my neighborhood isn't all that big. 40 houses tops. Can't afford to move guys. :(
I had a friend who lived next door when I was 9. One day while he and I were at soccer practice, his mom shot his dad four times in their living room and then went out in their front yard and shot herself. He was taken away by CPS that evening, and I never saw him again. Sad day. There were cops and CSI next to my house for days.
Wow. That's gotta be the worst I've read. Agh the sound... -cringes-I guy 1 street down blew his brains out at the tennis courts by my house...about 5 months ago a guy two streets over, held his family hostage, I walked over and watched the whole thing, swat snipers were on my friends roof, and they had armored cars..it was actually pretty cool to watch....Also I was at a party and a fight broke out, and I grabbed my beer (thank god :P) and ran out into the street just in time to see this guy get his butt kicked, dragged onto the curb, and get curbstomped....I still remember the sound.....

Staying in a shadey motel, next morning we go out and there's cops everywheres and they question my mom. This was like when I was about 7 or 8 so I don't remember too well. 17 years ago-ish.
[QUOTE="kayoticdreamz"]probably that time i was held up at gun point. thus reinforcing my stance on gun ownership well after i was lucky enough to walk away minus only 25 bucksMagnumPI
So you're affraid of guns? Be brave.
I'm sure you've been held at gunpoint before.[QUOTE="Elraptor"]What do you mean kiddie? :( I mean what you think I meant.I worked on a murder case for a grand total of three days when I was a clinical intern during law school. Then they transferred me to a kiddie case. :? Not sure it was an improvement.

Yeah, I guess you don't realize how often it happens. I guess it does happen a lot. They just don't become apparent unless they're really big and blown up by media. or have some weird and unique difference to them. I can't believe so many posters have been this close to murders. Sort of scary.
