The only reason I would see the sequal is because they left so many things unanswered. I hate that.

What was it Where did it come from What happened to it1. An ancient species that lay dormant in the ocean, that is, until Tagruato (a fictional drilling company) disturbed it and woke it up.
2. To add on to #1, There are several Tagruato Oil Rigs scattered across the globe, The one the monster lived near was called Chuai Station (which was destroyed by the monster after it was disturbed). And Chuai Station is off the coast of New York City.

At number 3, really? I don't remember reading or hearing that...The first Cloverfield was the absolute worse movie i have ever seen in awhile, i watched maybe 10 minutes of it with my girlfriend at the time and had to shut it off. It was terrible and i hope they don't actually make a second one.

I'm of the opinion that if they didn't put it into the movie itself that it hardly counts.
Anyways I don't care either way if its real or fake cause that movie sucked.

1. where does this info come from (not saying it is untrue, just curious) 2. what is the monster though...like a dinosaur 3. are there more 4. what fell from the sky at the start1. All of the Info comes from the ARG (Alternate Reality Game) that led up to the movie.
2. Not too sure what TYPE of animal the monster is. That was never mentioned in the ARG or the movie.
3. JJ Abrams has stated that the monster in the movie is a baby, meaning that it's mother is possibly still swimming around in the Ocean somewhere... (but if you go to 1-18-08.com, you can see pictures of the military bombing the hell out of some animal, which I personally believe is it's mother)
4. A fallen Satellite that was originally sent into space by Tagruato - http://cloverfield.wikia.com/wiki/Tagruato_satellite
and from the last bit, here is the confirmation from JJ that the monster was killed in the final bombing. (from Rolling Stone Magazine)

You really had to pay attention to the ARG to FULLY enjoy and understand the movie.

It's completely ridiculous though. These things should at least have been hinted at in the movie, but they weren't. A movie should never require you to do research before you watch it; the very least they could have done was told people they'd not understand the full story if they hadn't checked out all the information on the internet.[QUOTE="geezyj"]
