Cloverfield Arghh...

ok i want an hour and a bit of my life back. that was the worst movie i have ever seen, i mean i gave it a chance because some people said it was good... but it really, really wasnt. i seriously wanted to kill hud or whatever his name was, the absoloute worst actor in history.

i know there has been about a million cloverfield threads i just wanted to voice my oppinion :)

I enjoyed it... It was a good usage of 1 and a half hours. Do you hate it because you hate Hud or is there something else?MattUD1

It could have been good but the acting was terrible and you could tell it was green screen, the slanted building wasn't fooling anyone wither. Having one big monster and load of little one's just reminded me of a bad video game.markop2003

i was wating for the loading screen to apear before they entered the stadium

Oh and super camera, just a little camera that has night vision, high res, 1.5 hour battery and can survive a 100 foot fall

I liked it a bit, although I thought it could have had a much MUCH better storyline.

And a giant monster attacking NYC is realistic? It was just a movie, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Though I expected it to be inspired by Lovecraft, mostly because of all the Youtube speculation.

I thought it was an interesting experiment in the giant monster genre, but I feel like it was stretched out to make a full-length motion picture. I would of rather had a 45 minute double feature, but they aren't making those yet.

As for Hud and the over all acting I think many of you are confused. The guy who plays hud isn't a bad actor he's just playing an unlikable character which rarely happens in modern film. Saying they guy playing hud is a bad actor is like saying jar-jar binks was bad CGI.

Meh, I thought it was decent. Not the worst movie ever, but we don't find out what happens to the monster or the rest of the world, and everyone dies in the end. >_> It was pretty suspenseful after the long beginning, but aside from the camera usage it really wasn't original.Aquat1cF1sh

"So, that's my idea...simply have a movie involving a mysterious monster with NO backstory whatsoever storming through New York, BUT...the whole thing is seen via shaky cam-footage." "...That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard, how could we possibly get people to want to see that!?" "Simple...VIRAL MARKETING!"

the whole idea of having the movie filmed by one of the "screaming civilians" that you see in other monster films rests on it being realistic so you can experiance what it would be like to be one of them

and something i missed off my original post, i didn't care when anyone died which sort of made the way it was filmed pointless

I actually liked it quite a bit. It fell apart a little at the end, and I'm in no hurry to watch it again, but even on the crappy small screen on which I saw it the thrills were delivered.

I really don't know why people hate the characters so much. They were pretty real, actually. Would you honestly have acted differently under the circumstances?
