Really terrible film, the idea was good but the actors were terrible.

You can so easily see the blue screen, you can tell that the block of flats isn't really at that angle and the actors don't seem scared enough or have much sense, all of this breaks the illusion. The whole advantage of filming it that way is lost because you don't care if any of them die. Also isn't the camera a super camera, droped from 100 feet and hit by a nuke with just the protection from a few bricks.

I thought it was awesome. I'm only renting it because I never buy movies. But for those who are normal, it's a must buy, unless you hate original movies or get motion sick easily. If you can ride a roller coaster, you can watch Cloverfield. And the monster is awesome.
I thought it reinvented the monster genre which really has been an embarrassment in the past 20 years.... If you have a killer sound system, and tv, then yes.. The movie has some of the best sound I have heard in a very very long time.Ay_Boo_Boo

What kinda competition did this movie have? Godzilla hehe. And oh yeah, your sig is incorrect. You can punch your own back, so your hands can in fact hit what your eyes cant see. :)

Mirrors ftw.

The government knew nothing.. To further illustrate this, look at the last scene where its panning out on the ocean, you will see a small meteor hit the ocean in the left.. Its very hard to spot but its there, and I think I honestly was the only person who spotted it in the theaters..

Sorry that sitll doesn't make sense.. He did not hold responibility to these people.. He was not their leader, they chose to save the girl as well and help him.. I am sorry but most people under this amount of stress where possibly the most important person in their lives is in danger, will do anything to save them.

It wasn't a meteor, it was
a piece of a satelite, owned by the oil-drilling company that found the monster. The viral marketing described how it woke up the monster.
