C'mon, OT... you guys like Spongebob, right?

As much as I do like to watch cartoons I never really got into the whole Spongebob thingy and the only reason I've even seen an entire episode is because my friend and his wife are both big fans and watch it from time to time. I have played through several Spongebob video games though as the same friend has also worked on a couple of those but that's about as full of a Spongebob experience as I've gotten on my own.

I love it, i dont really watch it much these days but back in the day i watched it all the time.

Sponge Bob is written for those with an under 14 year old I.Q. Unlike the Simpsons, Family Guy and other which have jokes for all ages.

Nope. First off, I dont have paid television. Secondly, back when my friend had paid TV, he would watch it all the time. I never really did like it.

funnily enough, my sister and our friend just came inside from smoking a cig talking about spongebob squarepants. our friend said Squidward is actually an octopus, not a squid.:shock:

at first i was like, "no way. hes only got 6 tentacles, thus making him a squid". so i looked it up, and it turns out Squidward is actually an octopus. my mind=blown.

"Even though his name is "Squid"ward Tentacles, he is an octopus. This was stated in a 20 minute "behind the scenes" feature of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie DVD with creator Stephen Hillenburg and a few voice actors. The following was quoted by Squidward's voice actor, Rodger Bumpass:

"I am Rodger Bumpass, and I play Squidward'. He's more of an adult, tries to be at least. He's a squid which explains his name."

Also, in another feature on the DVD, entitled "The Case of the SpongeBob," Stephen Hillenburg quotes the following:

"This is Squidward the octopus." Later in the feature, he quotes, "It was easier for animation to draw him with six legs instead of eight." "

It used to be my all time favorite show when I was younger and I had all the stuff of spongebob I could get my hands on and watched it everyday but now that I am older its not as funny anymore although good and can be entertaining the episodes are just not funny sometimes and the older episodes in my opinion while always be classics.

Great show, but the old ones are waaay better.

I grew up watching Spongebob. I don't keep up with the new episodes, but I'll ocassionally watch an episode from time to time.

I love spongebob. Some of the episodes are just brilliant.

I hate that show. It is so annoying. Maybe it is because I didn't grow up watching it, but I just don't understand why everyone loves it.

It's one of those shows, that for some reason, I have no problem watching after years of not having seen it.

The older episodes are amazing, even now many moments leave me smirking and unable to mantain a straight face.

The new episodes are just shadows of what the show once was...

I freakin' love Spongebob.
