I think I once saw something called "Dude, what would happen" on CN. It made be want to rip out my hair. ALL of it.Head_of_games

I only saw a preview for it and I immediately thought it was ridiculous. First thing that popped in my mind: "what the hell is this? Mythbusters wannabe?"

On another hypothetical note, perhaps our percieved decline of the state of cartoons and CN could perhaps be a case of the network attempting to appeal to the current generation of the younger kids who are of course the target audience. We cannot really be the target audience of course, seeing how the fat lot of us are getting older and therefore out of there target range(with Adult Swim its a bit more debatable I guess). One could say then that really, the quality of the cartoons that we are currently seeing now can in all liklihood be a reflection of the values of what the really young children have(as much as it appears to suck to us) which may explain why we see shows like Stoked or Total Drama Island. This may also explain the need for something like CN real. Should these shows persist, then in all liklihood it will open up the gates for more "reality" shows similar to this. So really, i think it comes down to the values of whatever current generation of children exist as to what kind of cartoons end up on the air.

yeah, Nickelodeon and CN are coming out with dumber and dumber shows. I guess their actual cartoons like chowder are okay but CN real is an obvious pandering to the idiot tween crowd whe love mindless entertainment munu9

They're still marketing to kids, they've just discovered what Disney found out years ago. Kids want to be teenagers. And teenagers want to be adults. So they market to kids with the "image" of how kids conceptualize teenagers, if that makes sense.

It sucks and its really not giving kids a lot to grow up with. It's sad that kids aren't growing up with cartoons, but hannah montana. And there aren't that many great kids videogames anymore these days. Developers just give them garbage without even really trying, like the had in the 90s.

Cartoon Network died the day it started showing all the Japanese crap. I miss the days of nothing but Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, and a few others.

For me, Cartoon Network was going down when most of their good shows (anime and cartoon) have gone off. The only show I watch when I get the chance is Clone Wars, but other than that, CN sucks,

the cartoon network has always been horrible. Untill it starts playing 100% japanese anime.. it's horrible.. because American cartoons suck... and all the anime needs to be in japaense with english subs.. english dubs are horrible.

Cartoon Network (liketelevision corperations) is just trying to dumb down the minds of children so they don't think freely. MTV is just as bad they both give false knowledge about how the world works. The corperations make reality tv on childrens networks because the media has fooled the older generations that reality tv is real and cool so the younger kids watch.

I haven't seen the CN Real shows yet, but having real live programs on Cartoon Network makes no sense whatsoever. They're going down the way MTV has.

I watch all those shows (not so much Ed Edd and Eddy) and I miss them too. Although I probably won't watch them as much now, they definantly had more substance than today's cartoons. I still watch CN for Flapjack and Naruto (speaking of Naruto, why have they put it off air for so long?).

The Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Laboratoryare some of the greatest cartoons in history. And they had the greatest Batman cartoon ever with Kevin Costner as Batman! That's a TV show!

I disagree. Courage the Cowardly Dog was a very good show but I believe Johnny Bravo wins.

CN long ago in my eyes. Can't really say when, as I don't recall when I stopped watching cartoons, and which ones were aired when I did so. I would say around 2004 or so, but I really don't know.

Batman TAS is the best show animation had to offfer and as much as I love the classics like Ed and Bravo and Dexter, none of that can even come close to the masterpiece of Batman TAS. Well, maybe Superman and Gargoyles, but today's cartoons don't even stand a chance...

Most of these shows can still be watched just need to "look" around online. Only thing that Cartoon Network has going for it is Adult Swim but even then it is starting to suck hard. They should run re-runs of Super Mario Bros. Super Show and GI Joe, good stuff right there.
