Is anyone else having sleeping problems during their break? I have soooo much freetime and I spend too much time in my house because I have nowhere to go, and with all of this boredom I stay up all night without ever feeling tired. So then I've been trying to remedy that fact by forcing myself to wake up early and go throughout my day feeling crappy hoping I would then be able to fall asleep at a reasonable time, but that's not helping either. And I've been trying to get some exercise in but it isnt having any real effect. This is so frustrating.

You're still on your break? Classes started last week, here, and one prof was already kind enough to give us an assignment due today. :(

I do have trouble falling asleep, though, which is bad as I have to get up at 6 every morning. Five hours a night doesn't cut it.

That use to happen. I'd go hang out with my cousine for a week and we would stay up till 6am or when ever then sleep half the day away and do it all over. Time sure was irrelivant at that point. Now I just work all the time, I've already put in nearly 80 hours since sunday. My last day off was new years. I have no problem sleeping now.

You know, I did. I would fall asleep around 12, but then wake up at 1:30 or so, and not be able to fall back asleep until like 3 or 4. Also, other nights, I wouldn't even get my first hint of shut eye until 3, when I woke up earlier that day, around 8. It was not the greatest break for me :?

I have found myself requiring less sleep so far this semester than last semester. I wake up at the same time but go to sleep later.

I also have problems sleeping. Then again, I always have had problems sleeping.

During mybreak currently, I've been going to bed around 3:30 in the morning and not falling asleep until at least five in the morning.

Same here. I've just been going to bed at like 4 in the morning and waking up at 2 in the afternoon or so. I try to change it, but I just can't fall asleep earlier than 4, and I can't manage to pry myself from bed any earlier than 2.

It happens to me...In fact, I'm still experiencing it. Until 3 days ago, I wouldn't go to bed until at least 5. But I went and stayed at a friend's and we had some crazy fun, and I fell asleep around 1 and then the night after, I was so worn out, and I was in bed around 12. Last night...2. So it's helping a little bit. Just get out and do something, and wear yourself out.

I haven't been to college for a year now. :| I stress it because I was too caught up with a silly game. :? I let things get in the way of my pprogress and brought myself down hard. My grades were so bad I got placed on Academic Probation... With work and sleeping not too long afterwards only leaves me with 5-6 free hours so I'll never see myself going to school anytime soon, even if it is part-time. :(

im still on break to but planning on taking this semester off because last semester I didnt do so well. Going for a job interview later today. Tjeremiah1988

Its back to school and my roommates and everyone I know from last semester are having a hard time adjusting to their new sleep schedule, including me. We get about 4-5 hours of sleep average, and we nap like everyday we get back from school.

During the break we'd stay up till 3-4am and sleep in till noon-2pm. I know that I'd average about 9-10 hours of sleep, now I force myself to go to bed around midnight but can't sleep until about 2-3am, so now I average about 4-5hrs of sleep.

It was soo bad that one night I knew I needed to get some decent amount of sleep so I whipped up some cocktails with whatever alcohol I had left, about 5-6 shots of white rum and drank it all within about 30-45 minutes. I managed to get 8 good hours and don't take naps anymore. I feel like I solved my problem because now I manage to fall asleep around midnight.

Im just happy I get to sleep in tmr. :D!

Yeah, my sleeping pattern has had no consistency what so ever, but I've been averaging from 4am at night to 1 pm or so. I must say it's a relief that I don't have to worry about it too much since I really have no responsibilities to attend to until school starts back up in a week. But it sureas hell is frustrating. I'm thinking the winter also makes sleeping tougher since by the time I wake up there is only a couple more hours of daylight left.

I've been good, been lurking GS mostly, especially at school. But that is life. hehe. I'm ready to go back strangely, although, not to excited about 8 AM classes, going to 5 with only a couple of hour breaks. Though, Wednesdays and fridays are better. end at 3 :P. But anyways, I'm good....hoping to have at least as good 2nd semester as the first, but would like to get my Cumalative GPA up a bit. :)

Yes I am having the exact same problem. I've struggled with insomnia for the last few years, but now that I'm on break it's ridiculous. My pills haven't been working and the earliest I've been able to fall asleep this break was 8 in the morning.

that's happened to me before. two summers ago, for about a month, every day i would go to sleep shortly after sunrise. it was pretty depressing. breaks in college are way too long. i need to get jobs to keep myself from going crazy over breaks.

I know what you mean...except mines continues through school too, when I really need the sleep =T I want to wear those weird cloth thingies on the eyes to keep them from popping open at night.

Ever heard of Passion Flower? They sell it at places like GNC, any nutritional store; it's supposed to help insomniacs sleep! My friend told me about it but I haven't tried it myself. Um, he's pretty experienced with these over the counter meds so I think it should work like he says. It comes in pill form at the store.
