Why is the one so much better than the other? Hopefully we can get more than "because it just is" but we'll see I guess.

A Static Lullaby only has 3, but I like their second one most because it had the most style by far, and it didn't end on long, boring track in an attempt to be epic (cough linkinparkminutestomidnight cough). My least favourite is their first one because of lower quality equipment and uninteresting instruments, lyrics were pretty good though.

My favourite Nine Inch Nails album is The Downward Spiral, it manages to fit dark atmospheric songs, with excellent lyrics and paints a tonal picture using layered soundscapes. This was also the first time Trent Reznor did it.

With_Teeth is my least favourite, it fails to go for more experimental sounds and leans more towards the mainstream and it also houses afew dud songs. Its not a bad album, its just not as interesting as it could have been.

I dont have a favourite band....

Though I thought that Rush's Caress By Steel (1975) was a little poor...whereas Moving Pictures (1981) is great :D

Well KsE has 3 (?, maybe more) and it's Alive or Just Breathing, As Daylight Dies, and then The End of Heartache, in order from worst to best.

My Favourite song off the album is Only. Its just a really catchy song. I just didn't like "Getting Smaller" and "AwithATeethA" those are the only 2 NIN album songs I really don't like. I mean there are afew average songs, but those are the only songs I actually won't listen to.

Take This To Your Grave is more rock and less pop, and I like that. It has my favourite Fall Out Boy songs on the album as well. From Under The Cork Tree is somewhere in the middle. All the songs are good, but none other than Sugar We're Goin Down really stand out. Infinity On High has songs that I love, but others that are my least favourite of all. Of those three, I can't really choose a favourite... I tend to say TTTYG though. Evening Out With Your Girlfriend, their first album, is my least favourite by far though. Other than one song, none are particularly great- only listenable- and even that song is on TTTYG and sounds better. Patrick's singing is noticeably better on latter albums, and that makes a big difference.

Killswitch eh? You goto Threat Signal right now. HAWT. From my hometown, they were in the underground of the underground, then a year later across the country there's their CD in HMV :) I was so happy, definetly Killswitch influenced but they're definetly just as good. IMO ofcourse.

Zen Arcade is my favourite album by Husker Du. The songwriting is always stellar and inspiring. They broke all boundaries with that album. I wish I was a 16 year old way back in '84.....

My least favourite would probably be Candy Apple Grey or Warehouse: Songs and Stories. They're not exactly bad albums; in fact they paved the way for most alt. bands in the 90s (both in a songwriting sense and the whole 'indie band signing to a major label' thing) its just that they pale in comparison with their earlier work. But even their worst efforts put many bands best too shame.

That was pretty good, I saved the page to my favorites. You should check out Neaera if you never heard of them. I'm not sure how popular they are.

Disintegration. Great atmosphere and dark. The music pulls me in and I get lost. Very nice way the arrangements are made and the layers that exist within the sound. The framework all pulls together to create a sound for Disintegration. Every song is great.

TheCure...the producer didn't allow for layers. Just straight ahead music. Not to say I don't like it...but it misses the atmosphere which I love most about The Cure. Though the songs from the CD they do live...they do well.

For Ensiferum, least favorite; Dragonheads. Their other 3 albums are full-length studio albums, and Dragonheads is an EP, so it gets that spot, though it's still good. Dragonheads aside, since it's an EP, I'll go with Iron, then. Still great, but doesn't measure up to their debut or their most recent; Victory Songs. Markus Toivonen is a genius(so is Jaari)

And as for their self-titled debut being my favorite, it's amazing. Folk Melodies, serious riffs and sweeping guitar solos that all play off one another smoothly, all in one big epic package, with not a single low point on the entire disc.

Stereophonics

Best- 'you gotta go there to come back' - stereophonics at their best, every song is a classic and gives an insight into Kelly Jones lifestyle during the creation of this album

Worst- 'Language, sex, violence, other?' - Souless and completely different style to the other albums, seems to be written more about getting albums sold rather than about the music itself. It symbolises everything I hate about modern music.

In Absentia from Porcupine Tree, by a hair my favorite of the band. Very moody, very energetic, plenty of variation. Like always, the band has a lot to say, but they speak their mind with such grace. (Unlike, say, Pain of Salvation, who are unbelievably blunt.) PT were on the top of their game with this one, any Alt or Prog Rock fans should give it a chance. About my only issue with the album is the track Strip The Soul, which in my opinion is the weakest by far on the album and it's the second to the last track. It drags on a bit and just sounds quite generic, to be honest. But regardless of that, a very fine album I can't hear enough.

Fear of A Blank planet, Porcupine Tree's most recent effort is probably my least favorite. (Though I think their earliest material might be weaker, I need to give it more listens to form a solid opinion.) FoABP has some good themes and messages to it and one of my favorite PT tracks ever, Anesthetize. Not a bad album, I would say, just almost incomplete. It feels slightly like an EP. Ends in a rather awkward manner. Leaves me thinking "That's it" everytime. PT have an EP coming out soon which apparently has more tracks from the FoaBP sessions. I'm looking forward to it. So as it stands, this is my least favorite simply because it feels unfinished and the music doesn't feel as refined as some of their other albums. With the exception of Anesthetize, which is one fine little track.

Throwing Muses - House Tornado has pretty much everything I love about the band; off-kilter lyrics that mix the literal with the symbolic, massive rhythm changes that alters the overall path of the song, Kristin Hersh's driving vocals that effortlessly move from haunting to disturbing, overall a very edgy and challenging album that continues to stand tall after all these years.

zxcv

Throwing Muses - Hunkpapa is pretty much devoid of any kind of edgy or haunting sound that the Throwing Muses are generally known for. All the songs feel dumbed down and lack any sort of life to them whatsoever. Now that Kristin Hersh has matured quite a bit as a performer I have heard some very good live performances of a handful of songs off of this album, but as they are here on the album they seem limp and lifeless.

Band: Draconian

Best Album: Where Lovers Mourn. Why? Probably because "the cry of silence" is on it. There is also the fact that i consider all songs on that album to be beautiful masterpieces.

Worst Album: All Draconian albums are great.

Avenged Sevenfold

Waking the Fallen - It is their second album, released in 2003, and it's pure gold. I love each of the 12 songs on the album, and still listen to it all the time. There was good guitar, and a good mix of singing and screaming. Plus, the drums kick ass.

Sounding the Seventh Trumpet - It is their first album, released in 2001, when they were 18 and still in high school. I bought this album not knowing what to expect, and i really don't like it at all. The songs suck, and their current lead guitarist wasn't with the band at the time. Vocals consist of mainly screaming, and it's just a really poor effort, even if it was their first album.

Samwel_X

My favorite NiN album's got to be Pretty Hate Machine, every song is so perfect (with the exception of That's What I Get which sports cringe-worthy corny lyrics), Year Zero is a close second. My least favorite NiN album is The Fragile, although I haven't bought With Teeth yet and only have heard three songs from the album but love all three.
