I'm afraid my connection is a bit slow at the moment, could you explain the situation?Sajo7"It was 6:30 a.m. on a Friday in downtown Linden, N.J., when two Hispanic day laborers were struggling with their English as they tried to order a coffee and a sandwich at a deli But rather than getting served, they got a string of insults hurled at them from the clerk behind the counter. Their broken-English request for food was met with a barrage of racist remarks, including, "Get back in your pickup truck with the rest of your family. This scene wasn't real. It was all part of a "What Would You Do?" experiment
I would definitely do something about it. My mom's American and I kind of look like her so I haven't had any trouble but my dad's Mexican and he's been insulted lots of times. Once my dad was out jogging and two rednecks in a pickup truck drove by and threw a bottle at him and yelled at him to go back to Mexico. It's stupid that two pathetic lowlifes that probably don't even have a job think they can tell my father to leave when he's a doctor and has accomplished more than they probably ever will. I mean who's the drain on the community there.artichokeWith all due respect, what makes you think they were rednecks? That term gets thrown around WAY too much on this forum.
I saw this when it was on TV a while back, but I didnt catch all of it.
I am so mad right now at the black man in the story (as a black man myself).
There is NO way we should EVER side with those who seek to oppress others. I don't know if he just wanted to "fit in" or what, but it is innexcusable. At least he said he was sorry and just got "caught up" in the heat of the moment, although that is not quite good enough for me.
The good part of the story is, 3 times as many people defended the victims than sided with the clerk.

 I thought the same thing. In a thread about racism, someone was freely called a redneck. Gotta love it.I'd say, 'Coming from the guy working in fast food' like I was trying to keep it under by breath, but I'm really saying it loud enough for him to hear.
p.s.
My parents don't know English, and I found it extremly annoying, as a kid, to translate every piece of mail and phone call for them.
That would make me ******* rage. I'd walk up to the counter and and ask to see the manager. Then I'd ask the people what they needed, and try my best to understand them, and order it for them. Then I'd call the cops. XilePrincessI didn't watch the entire video, but call the cops for what?

They are not kids, I am sure they can handle themselves. Unless they get violent I see no reason to get involved.

No it's called being self rightous and nosey. Let them deal with their own problem. Unless it turns pphysical or is somehow inconveniencing you, you have no reason to get involved. It has nothing to do with balls. It's called letting adults deal with their own problems.

We don't need a hero, unless there are punches thrown stay out of it as it is none of your business, no matter how you try to rationalize it.

While I don't agree with racism, they do have the right to refuse service to anyone. Says that in any place of business in the US.

Another excellent post! You are right, companies can refuse service on some grounds.[QUOTE="Sajo7"]I'm afraid my connection is a bit slow at the moment, could you explain the situation?12Bullets"It was 6:30 a.m. on a Friday in downtown Linden, N.J., when two Hispanic day laborers were struggling with their English as they tried to order a coffee and a sandwich at a deli But rather than getting served, they got a string of insults hurled at them from the clerk behind the counter. My older sister is half-Hawaiian, I'm all white, and my little sister is half black. I'm totally against any kind of racial ignorance. People are people, plain and simple; the color of someone's skin doesn't determine the person inside it. There is trash in all colors, creeds, and religions. If I were in that situation, I would've ordered for the Hispanic men and I would've filed a serious complaint and possibly a lawsuit against the store/restaurant chain.
