they probably have never been out of The United States.
Barack Obamba is admittedly an inexperienced politician, but if he were in the EEU he would in all likelyhood be considered a moderate and possibly not a left leaning one at that.:P
it is all a matter of perspective.;)
George W Bush was also not what you could consider a conservative and was a left leaning moderate - his policies are almost indistinguishable from Obama.
How many people have noticed that most of the programmes of President Obama are simply expansions of those already started by President Bush?
Hey guys so recently I've been reading the news on a national and local level. I'm all for criticizing Presidents - after all they make mistakes and generally leave the people unhappy at times. But there are those people who think that this country, with the help of Barack Obama, will plunge into some sort of North Korean-esque nation. These are from letters I have read in my hometown and to me they are deeply troubling. I think we can all agree that America is a highly capitalist nation with some socialist policies. This isn't news to anyone, we are a sort of hybrid in many ways. There are millions of people who have died under communist regimes who would laugh at our faces if we were to ever call our nation Communist. Barack Obama would make for the worst communist dictator this world had ever seen. Nations would laugh at us. Recently the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the ObamaCare plan - and made it a tax. Sure, that's something most people don't like, giving their money to government. It also raises the issue of how large the Federal Government is becoming. But come on guys this isn't like all of our property is being stripped from us, this isn't like every time I say something bad about the Obama Administration the Gestapo will find and kidnap me. I can't recall a country that was ever truly capitalist or ever truly communist. You need to have both to survive. This is the end of my rant. I know most people don't consider this country to be going into Socialism and whatnot, but I feel like the issue needed to be addressed. Barack is not the greatest President to have lived in the White House, but his policies have helped this nation in many aspects. fluffers623He is a Socialist, his obamacare speaks for that. He flat out said he is a socialist. And he is a Constitution scholar, which he knows the loopholes. He is using those loopholes to inject even more socialism into the system. He wasn't the first president who injected socialism into the system, but he certainly injected the most. If you want socialism, move to Canada.

I'm not sure who is worried about becoming North Korea, I think the real worry is becoming like Europe, which is a valid concern.DaBrainz
Southern Europe, yes.
Northern Europe? No.

Some of the most efficient countries in the world are European (e.g. Norway/Sweden). Actually saw an interesting picture today when browsing the web in relation to this, hold on:

Obama might be socialist, but he is also an ineffective leader that hasn't been able to pass many of his socialist ideas.

That's the "beauty" of the European world order as it is, there's no southern or northern anymore. GOP logic: Greece has universal healthcare. Greece has a bad economy. Therefore, universal healthcare causes the economy to crash.stanleycup98"Insert the group you wish to bash here" logic: ... Greece also takes loans from Germany, like the US does from China.

Stop crying and help the greater good.
If anyone believes a government policy that requires a citizen to buy a private product or face a tax is socialist, then this country is doomed for different reasons. Maniacc1

From what the republicans suggest, I'd say their plan is already en route to your doomsday scenario. When is socialism only about social programs? It's not? Then what's with the expansion of social programs?
