Contemporary hatred of Japanese culture?

Is it just me or are more and more people becoming very hateful of anything from Japan. People I meet talk about how the Xbox is "God of Consoles" and this kid called me a pseudo-gamer for playing a Wii.

I hear the "weeabo" term hurled at anime watchers and anime denegrated as art.

Absolutley not! Japan survived the tsunami! That's the best they deserve. Really...

Not physically but as a Buddhist (not afraid to admit I am religious) I believe I was probably Japanese in my past life do to how incredibly humble and kind I am towards other people. I also like by treating others the way you want to be treated.
