It's called being a hypocrite. People do it because they feel bad all of a sudden, so in this case, they feel bad that they made fun of him and now that he's dead, they're trying to cover up by pretending they never did and feeling sorry for him. :|

This is why I am sick and tired of the current generation if they are a celebrity then shove it down everyones throat cause it's "News Worthy" yes he died which is sad however give him a weeks coverage both sides of the up coming **** storm and let the real world and real issues take over what is the news.

Michael Jackson was an iconic figure who had a large impact on society. His death is newsworthy. But on the other hand, I want it on the news sparingly. I want it covered very briefly, and then for the press to move on. What I suspect will happen is that there will be wall-to-wall coverage of this for weeks and other very important news will get crowded out under the feeding frenzy of tracking every twist and turn of what is almost certain to be the new OJ trial.
