Could someone explain to me why g@y marriage is a beautiful thing?

I saw a comment like this in a thread a while back made by a few people and I'm wondering what is so special about gay marriage and why is it a beautiful thing?

I have no problem with civil union of gays, but marriage is originally a Christian term, and Cgristianity teaches it's wrong to be gay so... you catch my drift.

Doesn't really affect me at all if some guy wants to marry another guy. Everyone has their own attractions. I wouldn't marry someone I'm not attracted to, that's just dumb.

People in general like to have sex. Gay straight or bi.

Gay people don't get married to have sex. They get married to show their commitment to one person. To show that sterotypes like the one you are trying to say (homosexuals have a overactive sexlife).

Marrage isn't about sex. Its about love and commentment.

Second, no. Socialism is not "taking money from people so everyone has the same amount." Socialism encompasses several different economic and social beliefs, and narrowing it down to the farce you described is not only over-simplification, but it is dishonest and ignorant.
