The Judean People's Front Crack Suicide Squad.
That's all you need to know.
Oh, and what is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
African or European?:D
What the hell..?British humour is by far the smarest / most subtle sort of humour. I hate American humour, as the punchlines are usually spelt out for the masses. British humour is usually quite subtle, almost like a small puzzle you have to work out for yourself, which makes the joke more rewarding when you get it.
If you want an example of great British humour watch the following shows:
Peep Show
The Mighty Boosh
The Office (NOT the American version)

What the hell..?Sorry wrong answer (lunges you into the pit of eternal peril.)
No, it really makes no sense. Like, it seriously went over my head. I've got no idea what the supposed "joke" was, what the punchline was, and where the funnys come in. *sigh* You silly Brits. Dumb jokes, tea and crumpets... What next?
I'm kidding about that last part. :P
British humour is by far the smarest / most subtle sort of humour. There is a difference between subtle and just ridiculous. Most people like to laugh at jokes, not spend large amounts of time struggling to understand the punchline. If you want good American humor, watch Seinfeld and South Park. Lulz will be had. Also, The Mighty Boosh just scares me. I only saw the one with that scaly-man-fish with his man... well, you know how it goes. That scarred me for life and turned me off of British "humor" forever. It's definitely not the most subtle humour. The thing is, we've only got a coupleof countries to compare because almost everything in any other language gets filtered out of our media channels. Now Russian comedy... there's subtlety. There's a lot of ridiculous slapstick, but under the surface there's often some incredibly subtle political commentary going on, which would just slip right under the radars of most of us who never had to put up with such extreme political censorship. Still, I'm totally with you on Peep Show - that's one of the funniest serials to come out of Britain in years. I'm Alan Partridge, although showing its years, is also some of the most finely observed character based comedy to have been created in ages. Not to mention some of the more surreal spoof stuff that's helped to shape British comedy over the last decade - Garth Merenghi's Darkplace and Dr Terrible's House of Horrible are great examples.British humour is by far the smarest / most subtle sort of humour. The British ver. of the Office wasn't any more subtle than the American ver. The American ver. was just sillier, and imo, funnier.
How can you guys go on about how great British comedy while ignoring one of the all-time funniest show?!
I present to you, Trigger Happy TV. It's probably the funniest show I have ever seen and it is British.
You should watch:
- Monty Python
- League of Gentlemen
- Peep Show
- Harry Hill's TV Burp
- That Mitchell and Webb Look
You're missing out if you have not seen any of them. The only show I find funny from America is Scrubs, but that's it.
