What do you think?

Revelation 13:16-17 NKJV

16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or[f] the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

No, there is no real connection, sorry. Just scientific innovation and people reading whatever into it they please.

Obviously you didn't watch the last 15 seconds of the video, otherwise you would've known that the chip is optional.

That is just another wacky conspiracy theory.

As I do not believe in a beast I am not worried about his mark. Besides I would never consent to anything that would mark me for non-religous reasons.

you know they are! people always laugh at me and my tin foil hats, but look at me now! I told people Half-Life was based on true events and no one believed me, now look at whats happening with the Hadron Collider! I told people Raptor Jesus was real and they laughed, but "V" is proof! And dont even get me started on the evil accountants living under our beds who are trying to destroy the economy and bring about a new world order through the sale of wonder bras with mind control devices installed in them! Why do you think guys blank out when they look at women's breast!? MIND CONTROL NOOB!!!!111One :x

That is rumored to have been a mistranslation actually, many claim the number was actually supposed to be 616. Either way, the whole thing is a fairytale, so it doesn't matter.

Exactly. You may as well be citing Lord of the Rings, hell, I'd respect that more. After all, it's better written, and has far more likeable characters.

To the TC. I believe the Bible is the Word of God (even though it's not what it originally was due to translation) but we need to be careful about reading into everything and trying to back it up with scripture. Also, 666 is just the closest they could get to the correct translation of the mark of the beast. Think more metaphorically, but only God knows...

Yes, yes that's the case. The Bible doesn't mention a word about dinos, and The hardcore Bible folowers in US belive that God put their fossils straight to the ground. But on the other hand they seem to belive that 4000 year old book did foresee coming of the microchips.

Not all Christians believe the Earth is that young. Also, how do you know the Earth is any older? Did you study it for yourself? Or are you taking what the scientists say by blind faith? Did you get the idea from school text books? You know, the same ones that lie to you about other subjects?

I wonder how many times a day you type 666 or 616 into the computer. What about if we converted the characters you type on a keyboard to ASCII values, or Hex or Octo code. How many times does it appear when your viewing a digital picture of yourself, could the colours around your right hand add up to 666. What if we added then divided then added and took the root of that.

You're looking for a sequence of numbers in a world run by numbers. You're going to find it everywhere. It has absolutly no meaning.

This also applies to that terrible number: 13.

Ignore the teacher and the books?

You seem to take every militant anti-science stance, but I dont think you would be able to support it if you saw the world around you and the life you are enjoying.

No, I was sort of brainwashed like everyone else, I just did my own study a few years later. I found that a lot of things in text books, mainly history, are lies. But I would be getting off-topic.

Brainwashed? Me?

Heck the other day I was trying to refute the mathematical principle that 0,9999... = 1. (well my intention wasnt to refute it; it just didnt sit well with me)

Trust me if I have objections to something, I express them, even if they come from a university textbook. Maybe it goes along with being an agnostic, not sure.

Also I dont know about you, but I find a fundamental difference between the process of learning stuff at school and the process of getting initiated into a religion.

Two totally different things.

Initiated into what religion exactly? Also, whether your learning in school or church, you are taught exactly the same. Except one is a religious book, the other isn't.

Any religion. Isnt the process of starting to believe in a religion called intiation?

The process is entirely different.

The process at school, tries to answer to many "why"'s and is much more receptive to doubt than a religious tradition. The religious tradition (rather the source of it) is what it is and will never change ignoring any doubt and any evolvement being carried out in the centuries.

Constant change, which is something for which many people criticise science, is the very reason why its more reliable than religion on certain issues. Because it is more keen on realising mistakes and fixing them. Its not rigid and its deffinetely not arbitrary at the same level as a religious tradition.

Initiated into a religion? Man i'm glad I have faith and not religion. I find it crazy how we've spent all that money changing the "opinions" in most school books, and then spend even more building a friggin "big bang" machine that creates what they call "dark matter' or the "god particle" and they don't even know what it is. Then there's the chunks of metal they got beaming through space trying to "figure it out"....
