[QUOTE="Teenaged"][QUOTE="JudgementEden"] I'm frankly not expecting anyone here to believe what I say, its GameSpot. There maybe some people here who may agree with me or know what im talking about atleast, but thats minuscule I think. Tell me, is it too crazy to think that you are brainwashed in school? Is it really THAT hard to believe?JudgementEden
Brainwashed? Me?Heck the other day I was trying to refute the mathematical principle that 0,9999... = 1.
Trust me if I have objections to something, I express them, even if they come from a university textbook. Maybe it goes along with being an agnostic, not sure.
Also I dont know about you, but I find a fundamental difference between the process of learning stuff at school and the process of getting initiated into a religion.
Two totally different things.
Initiated into what religion exactly? Also, whether your learning in school or church, you are taught exactly the same. Except one is a religious book, the other isn't.Any religion. Isnt the process of starting to believe in a religion called intiation? The process is entirely different.
The process at school, tries to answer to many "why"'s and is much more receptive to doubt than a religious tradition. The religious tradition (rather the source of it) is what it is and will never change ignoring any doubt and any evolvement being carried out in the centuries.
Constant change, which is something for which many people criticise science, is the very reason why its more reliable than religion on certain issues. Because it is more keen on realising mistakes and fixing them. Its not rigid and its deffinetely not arbitrary at the same level as a religious tradition.
