Could you survive a zombie apocalypse?

So, the inevitable has finally happened. The dead walk among us! Would you survive?

What's your plan of survival for this sure crisis.

Would you run screaming? Hide in a hole? Build up your own Zombie free empire, And then become a ruthless dictator over your citizens?

And since I'm in a fairly outlying town, I'd have especially good odds.

I think it's safe to say that I would survive for quite awhile.

I think all my gaming experience wiping out the undead would let me survive. That and I live in rural NC so the chance of me encountering a zombie would be less then if I lived in a city.

I think all my gaming experience wiping out the undead would let me survive. That and I live in rural NC so the chance of me encountering a zombie would be less then if I lived in a city.

Im thinking more on the line of the 'keep walking, crawling or squirming till dead, slow zombies. Yet slightly faster than Night of the living dead. maybe as fast as tthe normal zombies in left4 dead.

This article doesn't really account for the super fast, super smart zombies like in I Am Legend that don't really rot. Or what about the special infected from L4D? It just assumes all zombies are slow, brainless meat sacks.

How exactly would you have super fast, super smart zombies? Humans have pretty much already reached a sort of max balance between physical fitness, intelligence and durability. Zombies tend to be either slow, stupid decaying corpses or fast but short-lived infected because there are tradeoffs to their physical capabilities.

No, i'm asking who thinks they could survive a zombie apocalypse. There answer depends entirely on the persons view of what a zombie is.

But, lets go with the normal zombies from left for dead (maybe a bit slower though), the steretypical, horde of zombies, not nessisarily slow, but not veryfast or have special powers. What would you do?

I play Zombie Panic Source which technically has smart zombies because they're player controlled, and if the usual state of those games is anything to go by we'd all be royally screwed if smart zombies got loose. :P

I'd give myself a month. I know enough to probably outlast most of my friends and make it for a while.

The human race survives, your mother survives, I survive and then we re-evaluate our notions of the Zombie Apocalypse and realize that any such threat is really actually quite over-inflated as they usually are in popular fiction. And thats not because Zombies are not real, i find that they mostly tend to involve massive glitches in human logic to get anywhere near credible as a threat to the human species. Btw, i'm saying there not.

Mainly airborne? Unless i've got some form of natural resistances I am so totally boned if i get a whiff of it in the wind. It still might not be too bad but definitely worse then bites for sure.

I'm not scared off them at all, but they probaly would be really deadly. Except if you had like an infinite supplly of power for your light source, then that be pretty easy.

Ya. The most dangerous parts of a zombie outbreak is the mass panic which is caused, making us vunerable for infection, thus making more zombies, making our chances lower,making us morre panicked, and so on.

Oh, and it's also my firm belief, that if civilization fell, 10% would be dead in a week. And thats WITHOUT zombies.

Unforteunately, i live in Canada, which doesen't help me as far as guns go either, scince you can't get anything automatic out here.

ANd thanks for recognizing you'd probaly die. Most people don't realize howimpossible it would be to live in a city, surounded by hundreds of thousands of zombies. Even if you lived ina rural area though, it'd be much easier, but still hard.
