[QUOTE="JML897"]I admit my first though was they shouldnt have been driving. old people should take the bus. There's no question that the crash was totally his fault, but I don't see any real indication that it was because of his age.Buried inside the story is the fact that the man's reckless driving caused someone else in another vehicle to be seriously injured. He shouldn't have been driving.

Thank you, OT. I was losing faith.
So you felt you had to remind us of this right? that an old man commited a mistake the same mistake any one ranging from the age of 16 to 97 could have while driving...Buried inside the story is the fact that the man's reckless driving caused someone else in another vehicle to be seriously injured. He shouldn't have been driving.

Wow, if every marriage was like this the world would be a happier place and dang, driving at the age of 94 that takes guts he must've been really healthyxxKai
Apparently not since the article said he was under investigation to lose his license... And all of this itself started when he went through a stop sign and failed to yield to oncoming traffic, causing another motorist to hit him... With the other motorist's wife in critical condition, bleeding internally, and with a broken neck...

It doesn't sound like this was an isolated incident.
"Ehler said Yeager was facing pending action by the Iowa Department of Transportation to have his license removed, but citing privacy concerns, said he could release no additional details on what prompted that action."
I'm not saying he's a bad guy and it's a good thing he's dead, but it sounds like he was stubborn and reckless. If I was a family member of the person who received a broken neck because of this I would be pissed off (especially since the reaction this story is getting is "Aww, that's so cute").

72 seems a bit young to me :(
*oh nevermind, they were martried for 72 years...that is sweet, and sad, and happy, all at once
Her heart was beating through himArticle
The way they died is terrible though... I feel that everyone should have something like a mandatory re-test for their drivers license every 5-or-so-years, regardless of age.
