http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/8094720.stm

Finally it comes to an end, i never thought he was a playmaker but he was always a vital player scoring the goals. I think Man Utd can recover with plent yof players on the market but it might not be immediate.

I just dont see the draw of Madrid TBH, i mean seriously, they are way worse and hardly been winning anything, and at the same time, their club is full of superstars.

I despise Real Madrid, filling their team to the brink with super stars has obviously not helped them very much, they should try to work on their communication instead. This will no doubt generate huge merchandise sales however.

I just dont get it, dont Real ever learn, there Galacticos policy has been a failure and theyve got way to many as it is. Not only did they spend so much, but by not playing them they are eating away at their wage bill. And Real Madrid have been terrible in the Champions League for years now, just what draws him to such a club.

Yep; £56 million.

How we spend the £80 million will be interesting.

It will be interesting to see both Ronaldo and Kaka playing together. I predict that Ronaldo will complain that Kaka is hogs the ball too much with a tear in his eye.

i was watching a sports channel (sky sports news) and they were saying that the £80 million goes to Manchester United just to get the players regristration and Madrid will pay Ronaldo £10 million a year on 6 year deal so if thats correct, the deal would be worth £140 million! and that still isnt including agents fees or any other 3rd party things.

though Real Madrid will easily get the money back from both the Kaka and Ronaldo deals just from the revenue they will bring to the club so really they could really think of them as free transfers in a way

I'm glad. Maybe this year they will be able to challenge us in the league and make the derby games a little more interesting though I doubt it. They still some defenders and their team chemistry will never be on the level of the great FC Barcelona. This will allow Messi to show CR up in even more matches next season. I can't wait.

I know Ray Hudson can't wait.

Yeah...It would kind of feel like using a cheat code in a game. You may win, but where's the satisfaction? It would be even more hilarious if they didn't win anything again. As a Man Utd fan I'm gutted to see him leave, but damn, is 80 million pounds a lot of money. Finally the transfer saga is over. Hopefully we'll bring in Ribery.

In terms of club history, Madrid is definitely NOT a step down. But in terms of what the two clubs achieved in the past two seasons then, yes, Madrid IS a step down.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fergie had some sort of agreement in place with Bayern before we accepted the offer for Ronaldo. I don't think there's any way he'd sell Ronaldo without somebody in place to come in. That said, I think we still need another proper striker and someone with presence in midfield (like Essien). I don't think Berbatov or Tevez are good enough to be honest, especially when we need to replace the 30 - 40 goals Ronaldo scores/creates. I have no idea why Antonio Valencia is consistently mentioned, though. He's nowhere near good enough for United.

oh dear oh dear this is very bad news for football in general as well as man united. money has completely taken over. long live the teams like everton who go to the top with empty pockets. the irony is that i am a chelsea fan.

mark my words though, real madrid will not win anything because of this. my guess is a cracking debut followed by lots of hype of a new era, and then he will be sucked into the superstar munching machine that is real madrid, and disappear.

its embarassing to be a football fan with this sort of nonsense going on. real madrid should be ashamed of themselves, they're not a club, theyre a corporation. and who the heck is funding them?

and people, stop hating on ronaldo so much, he has matured a lot since coming to united, mentally and on the field.
