Dark Knight...overrated(possible spoilers)

I don't understand why so many people say something similar to this...it's like they're looking for ways to complain about the movie, but can't think of anything else to say. It's a pointless argument to make, since Heath Ledger is in the movie.

I haven't seen it and what you like is opinionated. I'd like to add that I could have said, "I can no longer take you seriously for liking that movie", but I didn't at the risk of being silly. I can understand you not liking TDK, but it's all opinion dude...

well...Caine+anything=awesome. But it really is great, acting, story and especially cinematography. The long track scenes are stunning.

Is this film overrated? I dunno... Maybe I guess? waited for this movie forever, saying no other movie before it is worth seeing, and when the time got closer, people camped out for the film.... You should ask them and see if the anticipated truly paid off for them or not.

Now for me, I came in the film not expecting too much. Sure I knew how everyone said how awesome the film was - but I just didn't quite understand why people were saying that. I didn't understand the hype that everyone seemed to have.
But I went to go see it anyways.
Now that I have seen it, I can agree with most people, that this movie is absolutely amazing, and delivered in almost every way.

I think it is up there with WALL-E for being the best movies of the year.

is this a serious question? are you saying you have a problem with films being realistic? I mean honestly. Also it wasnt all Bales voice, yahoo.com reported today Nolan and sound editors actually changed his voices frequency to help give it a different tone.

like someone already said, take every great film out there and remove the lead performance and it becomes average, one thing that makes a film great is it performance, people act like they arent part of the film, but they are, they make it complete, take a piece of it out and the film isnt all it should or could be. Plus without him this film was still very good.

I thought Dark Knight was really good but best movie ever? Hell no! I wouldnt even call it the best film of the year. Problem is people don't see the less popular films and tend to go for what they know. I explore and see more films each year than most people do so while I enjoyed the dark knight it didnt stand out as much as others did. Film-Guy

I thought it was terrific, but if people think it was overated than thats up to them. No movie can please everybody. Its kind of wierd to say.."if it wasn't for Heath Ledger this movie would have been average"..well yeah if you got rid of him you would be getting rid of a great performance and the main villian of the movie. Thats like saying if not for Darth Vader ESB would have been average..no duh.

I think he meant take Heath Ledger out as the actor, not the character... It works either way though, without Heath Ledger in the role I guarantee you a lot of people wouldn't be making a fuss over the character. Heath Ledger made the role his bee-yatch and played it perfectly; I don't think any actor alive could have played it as well as that.

Well since i watched all the batman movies and series , you could say im a big fan [ no i didnt read the comics ] ...i remember seeing batman begins and my god it was amazing and the music just made it perfect! even if heath ledger or the joker wasnt on the dark knight , i'll still see it but well they putted the biggest and best villians so yeah i expected it to be really good and well i saw the dark knight [ 3 times ] i gotta say....i never get bored from seeing this film and no batman's voice dosnt bother me as i liked it from batman begins so i knew what i was going to expect from his voice...the movie was amazing , one of the best movies i saw in my life....the acting , music ,direction everything was simply perfect and fantastic....it also had alot of adrenaline(sp?) i mean everything is going on and you dont expect whats going to happen next so yeah it was intense and tooo good for a superhero movie.

And now The Dark Knight. awesome performances , beautiful and epic music ....a great and epic ending[spoiler] epic as in how the batman made that sacrifice and stayed true to what he is...The Dark knight , i mean he is what gotham wants him to be , not to mention Gary oldman wrapped it up perfectly with the beautiful music by Hans Zimmer & James Edward Newton [/spoiler] , it explained the films name too:P

Well what did you go in expecting? The greatest movie ever with the greatests effects ever with the greatest acting ever (Maybe it got this) with the greatest action scenes ever and the greatest ending ever?

I just go into movies and expect an average movie, because we really shouldn't make assumptions like that... Then I just appreciate 'em a lot more.

I am sorry but the Dark Knight has SOOO much more merit as a movie than 300.

300 had very little story and basically rode on slow-mo action sequences. It wasn't a BAD movie by any means, but as a film it was nothing spectacular.

The Dark Knight however had great acting all around (When I saw the polic chief my jaw dropped because he was EXACTLY LIKE how I had remembered him from the old cartoons. I never got around to watching Batman Begins), interesting characters including my new all-time fav villain, great camera-work, a great story with interesting themes and messages hidden within.

Yes your opinion of liking 300 more is completely valid and I won't argue that, but I will tell you now 300 was the pointless film not The Dark Knight.
