They were legends. Until they sold out. To me, they're just another mediocre band.
They dident sell out. They did what they wanted to do. They dident feel like doing the same thing over again and again. I dont blame them. Metallica pretty much influenced every metal band around today. Their legends whether you like it or not.

Not really. The black album was still a very heavy album. They wanted to try new ideas out and like I said,they're we're getting bored doing the same thing.
There are many ways to change your sound without going mainstream. Obviously, they wanted money. They could've changed their sound in countless ways, remaining an underground band. Instead, they left their fans and went for the mainstream audience.
Are you serious? After puppets they we're loaded. Puppets dident even play on t.v. or much on the radio and still sold a hella bunch of albums.

No im not. The main reason they went mainstream was because james lost his voice and couldent do the same ****of singing as he did on their first 4 records.

Vocalists in death metal bands can do cookie monster vocals for years. He called it quits after four albums.
He had an awsome voice. A good thing dosent last forever.Plus he held that voice for a good amount of time. From 1981 to 1989.
