Metallica died like 20 years ago.X360PS3AMD05
Maybe to you but no they havent. Still a good band. Check the fan base
They killed their fan base when they went after them for downloading their songs and selling out.X360PS3AMD05
They've made some mistakes that pissed me off too but that don't take away from the fact they are talented musicians..

Every band sells out at one point. Slayer sold out, Megadeth sold out, it happens. It's just a question of if they can back on the same track after they sold out. Megadeth did, Metallica appears to be getting there and Slayer is sort of a grey area.

I was mainly aiming that towards metallica. Although They're one of my favorite and most influetial bands.Let just wait and see what the albums sales do!! I bet it's up there! Go on itunes and see how popular the songs are already! I am a fan of metallica! Do I agree with everything they have done? No! But I still give them credit where it is deserved!
As far as changing sound in their albums come on are you kidding?? Every band changes their sound to some degree to make it fresh.

My point exactly. When they all started getting big they started "selling out", but they will tell you that they got sick of playing the same stuff. Those bands were underground at one point too, they didnt just burst onto the screen like Jonas Brothers. I know some people that would even say bands like Mayhem or Gorgoroth have sold out.

The difference between Metallica and other bands is this -
Metallica changed their sound to appeal to a mainstream audience, therefore disappointing their fans and leaving them behind.
Other bands change their sound to "keep things fresh", but don't aim towards the mainstream audience, and more on what they enjoy and pleasing their fans.
